 		I think something should be coming up soon to incorporate the ARG and Tron themed park at California Adveture. It opens Oct. 8th. http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2010/09/first-look-at-electronica/

Never got a chance to get to SDCC the last couple years. So this is my best chance to get on the grid.

 		I still think it'd be nice if they gave us small updates every now and then just to let us know the campaign is still going and to keep us active in it. What they've done so far has been great, and obviously they can't do that all the time, but small, more frequent, online updates similar to what 2K Games did with Something in the Sea would go a long way to keeping the ARG more active.

I knew it had been mentioned before. Thought it would be a good opportunity to start up the game again, though they probably wouldn't probably kept it more hush. Who knows? Just hope the game gets going again soon, anticipation is killing me. I keep checking here and other sites a few times a week. Some kind of small updates would be great, even minor posts on the Flynn lives forum.

Thanks for my first trout, I'll put him with the koi. Laughing

 		I'm starting to get very discouraged... I mean 1 month and 2 1/2 weeks since the last update to this ARG.. not a tweet a peep or a hint... I hope something surfaces soon. This waiting it is kinda getting a little bothersome...

a tweet, an anonymous post on facebook or here on on the Flynn Lives message board, something... to let us all know if the ARG is going to continue.

well things were pretty quite from May until what a week or two before SDCC. so maybe as it gets closer to NYC CC and the Tokyo screening things will pick up again. I have not given up hope yet.

Timeline comparisons
If you look at other timelines, this is definitely unprecedented. Why So Serious built up as release got closer, as did I Love Bees, Year Zero, The Beast, etc. No long pauses to be found in those, least of all within 4 months of the release of the product being marketed.

It's pretty apparent that the pace of this isn't the usual, and I'd wonder how much has changed behind the scenes. For all the SDCC buildup on Twitter ("San Diego will remember the name Kevin Flynn – we will make sure of it."), nothing huge happened. No skydiving, nothing significantly new, Flynn's was just open again with more inside this time. With the rumors of Daft Punk canceling, it seems that it's possible more was planned that didn't happen. Plus, we can't forget that the economy might have something to do with some reduced budgets.

Also, and I have NOTHING to base this on, but it seems to me like the movie has changed. What appeared to be a love letter to the fans has seemingly morphed into an attempt at making Tron a huge mainstream success (something it never was). As the buzz grew, it could be that the idea of the ARG (and the funding for it) got diverted to other areas. Thus, we have multiple websites, multiple Twitter/Facebook, etc. It just smacks of a lack of focus.

Anyway, just idle speculation while we wait for whatever is next. Maybe someday some of the puppetmasters can share their story about how this went from their end. I would definitely pay for rounds of drinks to hear the tales.

Yeah, it's a bummer that there hasn't been any update recently. I keep thinking that we're all missing something. On the FL site, ZackAttack mentioned that the 'Underground Is Beckoning'... and seeing as he has a penchant for 80s and 90s arcade games should we be looking for him on BBSes and/or newsgroups??

Anyway, there are still 3 months (and 2 days) to go before the film's premiere - so there's still plenty of time for this ARG to kick into life! ... and it'll probably happen just as I go on holiday... Rolling Eyes
