So Mescad...

I think you can take St. Louis out of the list and put Indianapolis in it's place.

There's ample room below the list for instructions, so I think that'll come next. I just hope I can get the time to get to whatever event may be disclosed.

Judging by how fast the city names are coming up I suspect they will be complete in the next day or two, leaving three or four more days for the instructions to come online. Hopefully they will be done a day or so before hand so we have time to plan.

Oh, and a bit of decorum check as I'm still a little new to this. Should I be spoiler tagging my city name instead of announcing it as it related to the list? Don't want to botch anything by accident.

Spoiler tags are for puzzle solves (for people who want to try to solve it themselves) or plot developments (for people who haven't read/seen the book/show).

This is something wide open. I personally didn't feel the need to spoiler it since it's not a puzzle, just a slow reveal. But, that's just my personal opinion.

I don't think spoilering city names is necessary. At worst it's speculation, at best the names are publicly visible on the web page w/o puzzle solving. Really, it's public info, just whether it's seen in this thread or by clicking to a different URL Wink

Yep. I bet this is a trailer head.

Next they'll just list the location to meet, a group of geeks with gather with Tron gear on, and everyone will embark on a short scavenger hunt specific to their location, only to end up in a theater with a secret reel.

I can't edit my list anymore, but I agree that it's most likely Indianapolis and not St. Louis. That's good news for me, being only 3 hours from there and 6+ hours from the other locations.

I added the spoiler tag when I realized I was posting the entire list and didn't want to ruin anyone's fun who was also working on it. Also, I'm an infrequent visitor (only 50 posts in 6 years!) and being unsure of the etiquette thought to be better safe than sorry. Wink

I only spoilered to follow your lead, so I can remove the tags for everyone's convenience. If you are having trouble editing your post, I can help with that too.

I do indeed hope I can find the time to participate in this. I've been excited about this since the teaser was bootlegged from Comic-Con in '08.

Still hoping for a Bit too...

I just got back into this whole thing. I am not understanding the screen. What are we supposed to do? I know....scroll back a few pages...

I make out Las Vegas and we never get anything. This might be cool....

and what's up with the "bits"?

Oh, haha, I guess the reason I couldn't edit the post is that I hadn't logged in. I removed the spoiler tags, since it's no longer an issue. Also, I updated the incorrect city from Saint Louis to Indianapolis.

AND, even though I've moved recently, I received a tiny package today containing my bit! I was hoping that it would be forwarded from my apartment to my new house, and it was! I got a blue, roundish, undefined middle-state bit (how can a bit have more than 2 shapes?!)

From the photos folks have posted I imagined that the box, and I guess the bit, would be a lot bigger. It's about the size of a golf ball, and I was imagining something closer to tennis ball sized. For the record, I just got the bit and the yellow packing material - no scraps of lettered paper.

I like to think of Bit like a digit... a bit itself isn't filled until it's given a 1 or 0 value... it's like, a byte contains 8 bits, but a byte has no value until the bits have a value... like a cable with no power =) *shrug*
neutral bit is waiting for a YES! or NO!

Trinary computers have been around for 170 years.
Lots of communications/electronic devices (Even as far back as teletype) utilize a 3-state system. Usually on the order of +5volts, 0Volts and -5Volts. on the line.

The word "bit" comes from the contraction of "binary digit" so that's a good way to think of it!

In reality, a bit always has a value, either ON or OFF (aka 1 or 0, + or -, High or Low, etc) even if we don't know what the value is. However, it's bad practice to access any storage (like a bit) without first giving it a value, so I'll accept without argument that my bit is the virtual representation of the uninitialized state, since the character was named "bit" and not "trit". Smile

i'm in Scotland, nearest city being Edinburgh. so if theres no meet or drop up here and if you need the bit at a meet for some reason, we could join forces and i'll send you my bit to go ( but i'd like it back as it's the first bit of swag i've gotten from an ARG) Very Happy

That's why I referred to "B"it, capital B, proper name, Bit the character, not a bit in its technical sense Smile but I digress, I did say "a bit itself is.." ah well. I was thinking more along the lines of a physical location or reserved slot for a bit value (like 'bit' as is 'a byte is 8 bits', or as mescad put it, the virtual representation of the unintialized state =), which would effectively be what Bit is, so when Bit gets a signal it's either Yes or No. *shrug*

heh I wonder how much the nature and technical validity of "Bit" as a character/name has been discussed and debated since Tron first came out Smile
