Well, this kinda sucks. Nashville still hasn't activated. I'm kind of hoping they hold out until tomorrow on it, because there's no way I'm making it tonight. Honestly, I know it adds to the excitement, but I don't think it's the best strategy to release the details the day things are supposed to go down and expect people to show up. I would certainly have traveled had I been given a bit of advance notice. I'm just thinking that if you want the best turnout, you let people plan for things.

There's my Debbie Downer-ing for the day.

Yeah, with 15 left, and 3 an hour, we should be done soon. Who knows, Nashville could be in the next group. Latest would be 7pm central, then. That's not too bad.

Well, I'm just about a three hour drive away, so I don't want to just have to drop everything and roadtrip.

I think it'd be less interesting if we knew the cities in advance. It would definitely kill some of the anticipation.

Well, we've known the cities for days and days now.

I understand the reasoning behind the creative choices, but in a situation like this, where the core purpose is really advertisement, you're trying to appeal to the most people possible. It's an issue of practicality. It's not practical for most people to just drop everything and drive hours to pick up a wallet with a few trading cards and arcade tokens in it. Believe me, I really wish it were.

I'm taking things in too much of a Meta direction, so here's to hoping the online side of this ramps up and that I can actually hit a live event.

I don't think they're trying to catch the bigger audience right now. There are several months after today for them (Disney and the Ad agency) to do that. This is for the Hardcore fans. The people the movie is being made for, and not just the people who will see a TV spot and take the kids (I still think this movie might be my sons first Theater experience).

They probably expect people who actually live in the cities to do it.

Especially since there is only one "winner" per city, I wouldn't expect anyone from out of town to risk the drive.
