The Devil's Labyrinth
A Haunted Little Maze

I was watching more about Manoa on SL, decided to join and check it out. Well I joined SL and OMG so much for sleeping. They should post a warning to people before they join SL that *oh, and don't think you're getting anymore actual sleep for the next 2 weeks, we have your soul...muahahahha*

Anyway, last night I spent HOURS at this one spot I stumbled over - The Devil's Labyrinth. Not only is it a gorgeous, creative pice of work, but you will lose track of time wandering around it all. The creep factor is high. I was horsing around about 10 minutes, it's a cartoon, right..but suddenly it sucked me in...I got caught up in the whole nuance and when I finally found my way out of each maze (at daylight), I'd all but forgotten wow, I'm still sitting here at the computer and sorely need coffee.

The owner/creator happened to be wandering around so we chatted with him a little - he's looking to add more to it, more game style...but what he's done so far has been just outstanding. I have to list it under "Timewasters" but it's by no means a waste of time. It's loads of fun.

You WILL get lost. It's dark and creepy.
You WILL round a corner and get the crap scared out of you.
You WILL come back for more.

Three mazes hidden inside....it's got the nuance of a Halloween Haunted House and enough of one you can easily forget your in SL land. They are challenging. I went in thinking *k, maze, no sweat* but the effects, the audio, the traps, the illusions, the scripts, the puzzles, the deliberate disorientation....you'll lose yourself fast. I actually jumped back with my heart jolting out of my chest many times...

Here is the link to the info on the site: http://www.clubspaceradio.com/devil

Click the image and it'll take you to the teleport page if you're logged into SL.

Tips:

be sure to use the camera controls or look up top or down below...he left nothing out...

watch for holes: not specifically part of the game/maze but more structural. I discovered them accidentally and ended up in other corridors, and behind the walls themselves which was cool...and had to find my way back out to "in" the game (that could be a puzzle unto itself). Holes/illusions are usually in the corners, however sometimes the walls suck you in - not sure if that's game or structure but it's pretty cool.

streaming media on, and if you have headphones, I strongly encourage you to use them so not to disturb others in the room...but otherwise you'll have them all hovering over your shoulder!

crazy doors will confuse you out the ass. No tip, just fair warning...pay attention to where you end up!

Wings and props slow you down. Might want to lighten the load going in to avoid lagging.

Landmark it....

Now if you'll excuse me...I need to go find some flexi hair because this girl mullet thing is just horrendous.

Cheri Mills at SL is me. The newly addicted me.

I feel silly asking this--what is SL?

Edit: Oh nevermind. Silly me.

(for the rest of us asking the question, the answer is Second Life -- catherwood)
