So, what going on here?. Did the PM just take Alejandro's name and made it an IG chracter after looking this forum?

That not ethical at all, taking a real person's identity for a game without his consent.

Wikipedia is not the be-all, end-all of tertiary sources. It is possible that, just like the Alfa-Tsentr article, this one is fake, albeit it seems to be much better constructed and more realistic.

And also, I don't thinke the PM "[took] Alejandro's name and made it an IG character," because the response to the person that e-mailed Alfa-Group seemed to be IG.

They didn't make up Alfa Group. If they were going to write a high-quality wikipedia article, they would've just done that for Alfa-Tsentr and be done with it. It doesn't make much sense for them to half-ass an article and point everyone to it while making a really nice article that they didn't expect anyone to see.

Paranoia ceases to be useful when it's no longer grounded in reality.

Oh alfa group? I thought you meant alfa consortium, which ive never heard of. I had mentioned alfa group many many pages back and dismissed it as OOG background to make alfa tsentr seem more legit. Alfa group is a holding company that owns everything from banks to supermarkets, and even som oil concerns. I'm not sure of the chain of events here that this person was referring to, but as far as I knew Gergiev was IG and related to AT/MoT, and alfa group was very OOG.

We are pretty much sure Alfa group (by the way, it is the same as alfa consortium), so my bet keeps being that the PM saw here the name of the guy in charge of AG email and saw you guys emailed him again so he made Alejandro an IG through "replying" you through an A-T email accout. But how did he know AG wasnt going to reply as well?

Keep in mind it's very easy to forge email headers. You can make an email look as though it appeared from any address, and most email clients won't pick up on this unless you have a really good spam filter, or unless you manually look through the headers.

He could have very easily read the "I just sent Alfa Group an email" post here on uF, sent a forged email, and left it at that while the real Alfa Group deletes/ignores the sent email.

yeah thats what I mean, maybe the PM "replied" all the messages sent to AG (I believe an AG email account was never used, only gmail and A-T), but how could he know AG wasnt going to reply too?, that wouldve really messed up his plans.

What would they possibly say besides "We have no idea what you are talking about"?

And if someone from AG were to have replied, it'd be posted here, and he wouldn't have sent one in return. Nothing anyone does or says here is secret.

Not to mention that the talks of terrorist activities linked with the junsui would likely keep the company from saying ANYTHING outside of an official press release, which would likely take several days to compile and would probably have the company contacting the relevant sites to garner the proper information to reply with.. which would allow the PM to give them enough explanation for the company not to reply

Yeah, but that never really materialized into anything. The whole "suicide attack" thing seemed coincidental and was hushed up. Nothing else has really suggested a link besides some nonsensical, vague threats.

Right, but if you wanted a major corporation not to respond to inquiries there are few ways that would be simpler than to link the associated inquiries to "supposed terrorist activity"

Wait, what exactly are you referring to?

There were comments in several emails from AT and previous postings saying that the junsui are a terrorist organization. If you were part of a major firm being asked about your involvement with the Junsui and you found those references in reposted emails it would probably cause any reply to go up the chain to the company PR rep. Caution is always high in a major corporation.

Right right.

I doubt that Alfa Group is going to care too much when they go to a gaming website and read about how a fake company is reporting about a fake terrorist group. They'll probably just be irritated that Patrick is using their company and employee names and ask him to cease immediately, but I can't imagine it derailing the ARG.

This is a Russian company we're talking about here. Razz

Just saying it would be less likely that they respond in that event.

They could likely just contact the PM and request their information removed.
There is really no way to know without getting in direct contact with either party. Heck, if the email was English it may have been deleted automatically as spam, I know most Russian emails that come in to tech jobs I have had previously were deleted for that reason. (we don't serve anyone in Russia.. must be spam)

Hello, I've spent the last three days mulling over all 100+ pages of this thing, and it's as intriguing now as it was when I started! I finally decided to jump in with this, against my better judgement. lol I have a little bit of experience with ARG so I hope I can help.

Considering the recurring instances of the "water" theme, has anyone followed up the possible sign language lead (within the Junsui project website where she's playing with the water)? If not, I have a friend who is fluent with ASL and will be able to help.
