Anybody else trying stenography tools to decrypt the kitsune.png?

I'm looking for a program that accepts PNG's as input, but can't find any. Evil or Very Mad
Found a bunch that ENCODE to PNG.

Btw, PNG is best for steganography since it's lossless ;D

Have you tried opening the image in notepad?

Sometimes you'll find wierd text stuff in imagery when you do that.

I tried notepad, nothing of interest (plus, im not gonna scan thru a 5 MB wordpad file Razz)

I tried that online decoder earlier. No results.

I'm positive that if there is encoded data, it's encoded using the REvOlUTiOn ExPECTinG key.

If that's the case (Or NOC:1 for that matter) where would we find the "lock"?

The lock would presumably be the images themselves. This doesn't seem to be the case though. I thought kadomony might be onto something so I reverse-steganography'd (is there a verb for this?) all of the images the Junsui had uploaded both using no key and using RF NOC:1 as a key. Nothing on any of them except a little gibberish for the kitsune one (which makes sense as it's the only PNG).

I'm predicting another facepalm after this one is cracked.

Put a space between the R and the F.
What program are you using?

Did you try "REvOlUTiOn ExPECTinG"?

No, I didn't try "REvOlUTion ExPECTinG." I used both a shitty internet application and something called "Invisible Secrets" for the JPEGs. That's probably a bad choice (I have only a marginal idea what I'm doing), but it was quick.

Edit: the latter program has decided not to work anymore so I can't try REvOlUTiOn ExPECTinG.

Hey man, we all start somewhere. I'm not great at it either but we're progressing from where we've been...

Yeah, it will probably be something really obvious that will take us a few days to figure out.

By the way, I also tried adjusting the contrast and basically messing around with some of the images in photoshop because when steganography was mentioned for some reason that made me think of Operation Falcon Punch. It didn't do anything so I'm guessing the PM isn't doing an Oversight type thing, but if someone wants to try merging images for coordinates feel free.

Oh I know that, I was just saying that so that he won't assume I did everything correctly and give up on this. My only point was that I might've missed something. Of course, at the moment it seems like we're all missing something.

FINALLY found a program that'll do it!

http://www.jrsoft.de/progs/jrsteganocl.zip

I've tried all the ones we've mentioned here (including upper/lower case letters in the revolution thing) to crack the png but can't find anything. Maybe you guys can find something in it (or other pics?)

If they were GIFs, I'd recommend Camera/Shy. You put in two passwords, and it checks for hidden data in GIF files.

But since they're PNGs...

Second thought: Maybe revolution expecting is an anagram? Try separating the lower and upper case letters.

Did that last night several times over with no results, but I may have missed something. The word "OUTTER" did jump out at me when viewing the uppercase letters, though.
