If they're in an approximately Russian climate, they'd presumably need low melanin levels to keep vitamin D production up.

(There's a reason humanity evolved a variety of skin colors.)

wat?
just use the original flash from the junsui site

and you guys talking about the MYSQL error that links to the fake google when you click THE ENEMY? or is this an actual mysql error you're encountering?

Only we can't because the MYSQL error that leads to the fake google makes it so we can't go through it.

ah i see.
to fix that, right click on the flash, go to Settings>Local Storage tab
bring it down to 0kb, then back up to 100.
it'll clear out the cookie that brings up the mysql error

Just my $0.02 with respect to the apparent story line. The "historical" youtube videos connections between Guido von List and Gwaschemasch'e. von List was the founder of the esoteric movements of Armanism, which eventually developed beliefs in the "purity" of the Germans (an ideology that led directly into Nazism, although von List and other pioneers were apparently at odds with Hitler himself).

Gwaschemasch'e (13th wife of Abdul Hamid II) was a Circassian woman (from the Northern Caucasus). According to wikipedia, as early as the 18th century there was a legend of the Circassian beauties, epitomized as the ideal of femininity.

This Juntai ARG has a few elements reminiscent of these connections. They are apparently genetically engineered, and the word "juntai" implies they are "pure children". A Russian defense contractor is involved, apparently holding some woman in a cell under surveillance (possibly one of these Juntai women), and the posts under Junko's name make continual references to Gwaschemasch'e and other aspects of Turkish/Ottoman history.

So, we've got the themes of genetic purity, references to legendary beauties from the Caucasus and a pioneer of German esoteric paganism with racialist undertones. I'm not exactly sure the stage is set for an objective consideration of "optimal alleles".

here's some wikipedia stuffs that seem intereresting:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kosvinsky_Mountain
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Yamantaw
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sverdlovsk_Oblast

alfa-tsentr's wikipedia states they are in Beloretsk, Russia (which happens to be UTC+6 btw, the same time zone on the security camera)

looking up Beloretsk, we see "In 1996, Beloretsk Metallurgical Complex was changed to an open joint-stock company and is now known as Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant."

googling "Beloretsk Metallurgical Complex + Alfa-Tsentr"
yields this PDF:
http://www.mechel.com/media/for_investors/shareholders-meetings/30062006/Explanatory_Note.pdf

inside, we find:
Alfa Private Security Firm OOO Russia, Kemerovo
Region, Myski,
Sibirginsk Open Pit
Mine OAO
The Person belongs to the group of
persons comprising the Joint Stock
Company
March 11, 2005

Looks like Mechel (one of Russia's leading mining and metals companies) is the head of Alfa security.

LOLZ. Don't you guys think you're holding our nefarious, hegemonistic Russian business cartel to a little too high of standards there? The fact that their ideology is objectionable to most is probably the point I guess? Its all good Orwellian fun.

UPDATE: No reply yet from Alejandro at Alfa-Consortium yet. Sad

So has anybody dropped a line to that designer guy or sent an email? If not then I'm gonna be firing one off here in a bit. It's fun trying to figure out the story and all, but moving on would be great.

Also, possible tard influx from /x/ could be heading here.

Hey all, newbie here, and I ain't from /x/

I got enthralled by this yesterday afternoon after I was linked to the shineisei website with instructions to click THE.ENEMY in the MySql "error". Creepy stuff, but certainly interesting, and I'm looking forward to following this one further.

Simple request, however. 25 pages of posts is a bit daunting to find out what's going on (although I'm under the impression that nobody knows that just yet). Could anyone be an absolute legend and sum up the ARG so far, i.e. what sites have been involved and so on? I assume that the shineisei, YouTube video and the hidden video with the girls in the cells is the latest step, but have I missed a great deal prior to this that's gonna leave me even more lost? Or at least point me in the right direction towards a "summary" of sorts?

I'd appreciate the help.

new facebook post by the Junsui:
"BORN IN KOSVINKSY, HELD FOREVER IN THE DARKNESS. SOON WE SHALL WALK IN THE SUNLIGHT."

Checking the wikipedia the article makes the mountain seem like a military base and then:
"Although the exact operational status of the facility cannot be determined, the facility has been at least partially operated by private military contractor, Alfa-Tsentr since the Summer of 2000."

Checking the history of the article brings to attention it was created on May19, which is the exact same day that the article on 'Alfa-Tsentr' was created
(http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kosvinsky_Mountain&action=history)

I'm not sure, but I think if there is a way to look at all articles created on May 19 we may be able to get a jump onto the next clue and off of this dead end we're in.

FYI: The person doing the edits (A Nikitin) also cross-reffed Mount Yamantaw, and edited that page to include a link back to Kosvinsky Mountain

He (?) is also the person who did the Alfa Tsentr page. Good chance that looking for that name might pop up other edits that are related to this whole thing.

I find it interesting, that on the Yamantaw page, he changed "railroad tracks run in and out of the mountain" (or such) to "railroad tracks service the facility".

Hmmm...

OK, for all the new people, please listen. Let me clarify something...

Alfa-Tsentr appears to be a REAL RUSSIAN ORGANIZATION, but not the way we see it. By all accounts, they're a mining company and/or a security firm.

For that matter, Kovinsky Mountain, Mount Yamantaw and all other locations and entities that are referenced in Wikipedia, are actual Russian locations.

The Wikipedia entry for Alfa-Tsentr, although it links to several actual locations and entities, is NOT REAL.

If you see the edit history for it...

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Alfa-Tsentr&action=history

...you will see that it was created, in its entirety, on ONE DAY. If you look at "Radoslav 00" contributions...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Radoslav_00

...you will see that they went as far as to add Alfa-Tsentr to the "private military company" page on Wikipedia.

So, with that in mind, a word of caution to everyone: be VERY, VERY careful what sites you attempt to contact, especially if those sites have not been, without a shadow of a doubt, verified as "in game".

For example, you all are trying to contact an Alejandro at Alfa-Consotium; it is very likely that he's "out of game" and doesn't know anything about this.

The PMs have gone through extensive effort, and extreme risk, to make this whole adventure seem real. They posted on actual news sites (Huffington Post, CNet, Wired, etc...), they created a dummy page on Wikipedia, etc... etc... In Google cache we have even found posts on the official forums of North Korea.

This all borders on an international incident here. They are taking a monumental risk in creating this world of theirs, and now we are all putting ourselves in risk following their trail.

Be very, VERY careful where you tread.

This is the other relevant wikipedia "editor":
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&limit=500&target=A+nikitin

I have to second Nighthawk here. There are a million businesses in Russia called "альфа центр," or have the word "альфа" in them. only 1 (and maybe not even the 1) is an IG company.

Besides, hasn't anyone noticed that with all the locations, that maybe we're not really looking for anyone or anything? Mt. Yamantaw is not that close to Kosvinsky, and then add to the mix all the locations in Turkey. Plus Munich... what are we supposed to do, triangulate? Use google maps and look for a bunker? then what? storm it? tell the FSB? Raspberry

I would imagine that, if we were supposed to get into either the alfa-tsentr site or the nihon shinsei site that there would be ... like.. i dunno... solid clues about what those logins were? by now

(edit) weird, I lost a set of edits in there.
