Thank You/Chat

Now that the game is officially over and the curtain has closed, I feel it only appropriate to introduce myself.

I'm Kyle Woollums and I was your PM for this game. I sincerely hope you enjoyed it--I know I did. You guys were a thrilling group to work with. Based on some of your ideas, the game took entirely new directions... and I was excited about that.

I appreciate your support and hard work while playing it.

Now that it's over, I would like to host a chat in the ARGN/Unfiction chatroom (in the #institute section, of course). I'm interested to hear from you... what you thought and liked/didn't like, what you got out of the story... among other things. It will be like a big question/answer session--at first, you can ask me questions and then I will ask you some as well.

Is there a specific day/time that works for you? I want everyone to be able to participate, if they desire. So the day and time is up to you--I'll be there whenever you decide. I was thinking perhaps tomorrow night would work well, as many people stay home on Sunday nights; again, discuss and find a good time for everyone.

Once again, thank you. I look forward to chatting with you.

Kyle Woollums

Nice to meet you Kyle. Very good game. I don't know if a chat time would work for me, but I had a question about the Characters: was it just you as each? Could it have been beneficial to have multiple people as characters interacting with Matthew?

Either way, enjoyed your game and had a good time Smile

Yes, I was the sole person working on this project. I would have to say that it would have been nice to have some additional people working on it to add more perspectives and depth to the story (and to have some extra help), but I also liked having complete and full control over the direction of the story. It was incredibly thrilling seeing where the story would go next.

I had a basic outline of what the story was to be. It generally stuck to that basic outline, but some things and people weren't planned at all! Christine was never meant to be a major player in the story, but I soon realized that Matthew needed a companion in his fight... and it just worked and clicked into place.

Thanks for the question. Any others? And is anyone interested in having the chat? I'd certainly like to have it just to get some feedback on my first "major" ARG and to shed some light on questions or ideas you may have about the story and game itself.

Great to meet you!!
I for one had an awesome time playing this arg. Thank you for making it both interesting and fairly difficult! Great work for one person to do all that. Smile

I'll sure be happy to chat. Any time is fine with me Mon-Friday (I'm never really at the comp on weekends).

Here's a quick question that could probably be reserved for chat: Was there initially going to be a way to gain level 1 access in the employee portal before the game took a turn?

edit: Sunday night sounds good. I imagine almost everyone would be available.

In reference to your question, the short answer is yes, there was to be a way to gain level 1 access. That will certainly be addressed at the chat, though. Smile

So, Sunday night good for everyone? Does anyone have any objections to having it at 8pm central time? That makes it a pretty reasonable hour for all throughout the country.

I'll keep looking at this topic, but for now, let's plan on 8pm central time tomorrow night (Sunday). I look forward to it!

Sounds good! I can't quite make 8 but should be in by 20 after or so.

Well, this was definitely a good choice for my first ARG. I had a whole lot of fun! Sunday night would probably be fine with me, but unfortunately, I can't make a commitment. I don't foresee a problem as of now, though.

Looking forward to chat! Great work on an awesome game!

I really enjoyed the game for the portions I was available to play. Thanks for a great time Kyle! Smile

I won't be able to make the chat unfortunately. Work doesn't let me go until around 9pm Central. But if someone could post a transcript, that would be great. If not, no worries.

Thanks again!

Chat log! Sorry about all the funky encoding, I didn't realize I didn't have "strip colors" checked in mIRC.

Thanks for the log, ancalime. I was unfortunately unable to make it (obviously,) but I think you guys pretty much covered all of the questions I had anyway. Will definitely be keeping my eyes open for another ARG by Mr. Woollums!

Thanks for the archive, I didn't check my e-mail until the day after, or I would've been there. Now I'm wondering what the "secret" was. *checks mailbox for swag* Nope, nothing yet.

Yea, thanks for the log. I am also intrigued by the twist/secret. Hmmmmmm... Hopefully (maybe it's just me) it's something extra w/ the shirts.
