robinthatcher http://twitpic.com/cryra - It was all crumpled up, ripped, and soaked in some kind of liquid.

"Cryra"?
Are twitter pics named randomly, or did he name it "cryra"?

twit pics are named randomly like biy.ly and tinyurl links.

I'm not sure if you can specify what comes after the / like you can with tinyurl though so it could be rotted text or something.

[edit] no you can't use a custom url I just checked

If I'm not mistaken, hydrogen peroxide has a pretty distinct odor. It's used relatively often in low concentrations to disinfect wounds. If Robin touched it, and it was still wet, then he would have most definitely noticed the smell.

Can someone ask him if he smelled anything, and if his skin reacted visibly in any way? Also if the paper is affected. Stupid firewalls won't let me on Twitter...

I've tried asking a number of things but he's not responding over twitter at the moment. His hands might be too sore to type.

We know that its an irritant which causes a burning sensation and that it was clear (it didn't stain the paper) also txkkxt must have got it when he went to the chemist so the chemical must be readily available.

[signing off for the night, its late here in Blighty! I'll check the thread again in the morrow. Night all]

Unfortunately, there are a number of things that could be mixed up using readily available materials that could cause irritation. Hopefully he's doing alright. I don't think that it would be anything too serious, since txkkxt so far hasn't really shown any desire to cause him harm (other than the psychological variety, of course.)

Also, I'm almost positive that the message was written in Greek.

It was English written using the greek letters which most resembled the English ones. A good way to throw us off the scent for a couple of seconds.

Certainly the live action twitter stuff seems to be happening at convenient(ish) UK times. Although Robin mentioned a Mailbox which we don't have in the UK we just have a slot in the front door of our houses with a sprung flap over it.

P.S> it's really difficult to type with a sleeping cat on your lap!

Perhaps he is in Australia?

Here we have mailboxes AND Chemists (The best of both worlds! Wink )

As for the chemical, it had to be something that was irritant to the skin (perhaps an acid or a base?) but does not destroy the paper or the ink. Perhaps an alkaline substance then...

My mistake; that's what I meant. Thanks for clarifying that.

My thoughts exactly. Concentrated hydrogen peroxide would fit the bill I think, but an odor would just confirm our suspicions. By the way, I already tried H2O2 as a password: no go, haha.

Worried yet heading to Sleepyville Smile wanted to reassure Robin. He replied:

Ok so according to the last twitter session... Robin had somebody knock at the door and it woke Robin up. Robin went to the door and nobody was there... (not the brightest move when somebody is stalking you)...
Do we even know if Robin is male or female yet? Robin is such a "unisex" name...

I think in the "story" on the Find The Doors site Robin was referred to as "he."

No problem Very Happy

I asked Robin if there was anything, like a note, on his door, but by the time I asked that it was already about an hour after his last tweet, so he's probably asleep.
