Re: Reply to Otto Nicely done AUZ!
Here's the reply from Otto:
Otto wrote:
Well, alright, sir, you're the boss. We've dumped him in the usual alleyway.
ETA: I sent a message to Tyler telling him what happened and warning him that they will notice soon.
I hope I am not intruding in the game too much, but if it was a real situation, the best chance to delay Wesley knowing about AUZ's e-mail to Otto would be to delete Otto's reply.
So I will deleted it. Apologies to those who wanted to see the reply in the e-mail account.

Guess who just got dumped in an alley?.... Top notch letter AUZ! You got Tyler is free!
quoted from Otto's email reply:
"Well, alright, sir, you're the boss. We've dumped him in the usual alleyway."
I deleted this email, and I also emptied the trash folder, as it still contained the 2 emails AUZ deleted. So now our tracks are covered, Tyler is free, and Otto will most likely be hitting the unemployment line.
Good work.

So, Tyler has been dumped somewhere 4 at most, 4 hours ago. He has not replied to my e-mail yet (he probably has other things in mind )
Anyway, here's this:
You're some lab tech that has just been released by your boss' people who were about to feed you to the beast you've been talking to. It is late at night and you're in a strange alleyway. You see the bodies of other poor wretched fellows that did not fare as well as you did. Where would you go? What would you do?
(My hope is that he'll go to the nearest internet bar and contact his trusty gang of ARGers to let us know he's OK. THEN he can go to KFC and get himself some nice cholesterol to stuff down his aorta )
Seriously though, we don't know in what condition he might be.

Hey guys been gone for awhile, hmm we got an email awesome job guys! however i don't think this is good planning on the PM's part. Now anyone can take control of that account, emailing people, starting confusion and just causing trouble, so I hope everyone will respect not to do anything outside of read his emails before he gets him and talk to in game people, and maybe do a little more hacking

It wouldn't last long...unless we changed the password.
But seriously, it is not a bad idea. If we did some e-mails (may come in handy in the future) and deleted the sent items and requested no reply we might get somewhere.
Such as in this trivial example:
Jones writes to Otto. Otto, go and feed the Baldulc a Big Mac and Super-Size the ThickShake. You can keep the chips. I must remind you this is a TOP SECRET message. Delete it as soon as you get it and DO NOT reply. We WILL NOT speak of it in person and you will tell no one. Make sure you cannot be traced.
That kind of message might buy us a couple of days before Otto is fired
Just a thought

That is not the first ARG, where the PM used an email account of an IG character and "open" it for the players, (e.g. TSO and Pali's Past Time). I assume it works with small ARGs. There are of course ARGs where such a move would not work well (e.g. Junko Junsui ).
Of course the PM takes always a risk. There could be a big change to the storyline if a player uses the account for things the PM did not thing of. The PM has to react somehow. So nothing for scripted ARGs.

Looks like someone's changed the password on wesley's e-mail account.
The question is:
Was it Wesley or was it one of us?
My bet is on Welsey, otherwise I assume someone would have told us in the forum.
On a separate note:
LOL I got this reply from Tyler:
Quote:
I'm here. I'm hiding out in some little Internet café I found. No idea what's going to happen next. They'll probably realize they made a mistake soon and come looking for me. What should I do?
ETA: I told him about AUZ impersonating the Boss and getting him released. I also told him that we probably need some sort of evidence if the authorities are to believe us.
I have asked him to lay low and to try to find someone he trusts. If not, perhaps it is best if he leaves the city for a while...I told him they would be looking for him soon.
I have also asked him to tell us what happened to him.

So, Tyler's safe now (hopefully). Otto might be the replacement "test subject" (meal) soon lol.

(I think you may have just given the PM an idea about plot development!)
[META]I wonder if the PM got spooked by our discussion on perhaps changing the password! (hence the quick password change!) [/META]
I would like to reassure Mr PM that I don't think any of us would have actually done that unless it was clear that it was the way the game was supposed/allowed to go.

Breathed a double sigh of relief at the new developments. Am very happy that heroic Tyler, limbs intact, is safe and equally glad that Dr Jones changed his mail PW.
Having just gone through a bout of gmail harassment, certainly agree with AUZ that the cons outweigh the pros when opening the players accn't details. Also emailed Verloren inquiring again about the WSAD's primary interest in TEH Balduc

I'm pretty sure they are trying to stop the total annihilation of the human race from these monsters who claim our planet to be theirs...but that's just a hunch haha

...goes without saying, theantman, your hunches are spot on. Yet my ladybug instincts are still saying that Verloren has a couple of puzzel pieces re the WSAD which haven't to date been revealed.

Tyler's flying away...with good old Jo!

Hey,
I'm about to board a plane out of here. I don't have a lot of time.
I was staying at some little motel under an assumed name. Imagine my surprise when I ran into Joseph! He was looking for me. Said "Verloren told me to pick you up." So here we are at the airport. I didn't dare go back to my apartment. They've probably got someone posted there, watching out for me.
There's the plane. I better go.
