 		Modem sounds
Josh's phone number is returning modem sounds, as if a dial-up modem is attempting to connect to my phone.

Two things are odd about this:
1. Who uses a modem nowadays, except for people WAAAAY out in the boonies?
2. It is DEFINITELY attempting a connection.

Has this been covered before?

 		could it be a fax? oog they may have had the spare line to use since its a home office fax line or something similar

That does mean a modem, doesn't it? When we used to use dial up that's what it would sound like when someone tried to call and someone in the house was online.

 		yeah I called and got the answering machine after 1 ring again.


maybe they're using that as an occasional phone line for a dialup modem? this could all be oog
