This is surprising, given the recent news that Day One (the TV show that this seems to be promoting) was recently downgraded to "just" a miniseries:

I assumed that this meant that this Sargasso thing was probably dead in the water. Maybe not..


EDIT: Actually some more rooting around on the blog of the Exec Producer Jesse Alexander here: http://www.globalcouch.com/ led me to this information in the comments section, in response to a question about how the switch to a miniseries format will affect the 'transmedia' content:

The DAY ONE transmedia plans will change somewhat. The book we were doing with Harper Collins: EOS and Terry Bisson (as alluded to in my blog post) will go away -- for now. And our comic book plans as conceived will need to adjust somewhat. The cool online stuff we were doing will remain intact and actually expand a bit. I will need to get creative with a replacement for our apparel component. And go grass roots for the online game. Wow. Honestly -- going this route makes it all a bit more exciting. Smile
