Here's an interesting little article posted back in August 2009 regarding the ARGfest in Portland where the Nonchalance folks did a presentation. Short, but interesting:

Note: I'm stupid. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to put a spoiler tag around an image tag. If anyone feels this picture is too spoiler-ific, just let me know and I'll edit it out.
EDIT: I removed the picture for Spoiler's sake. Just click on the link to see the article and accompanying photo.

there's no way to spoiler tag an image unfortunately. what you can do, however, is host the picture on imageshack.us or something and then spoiler tag the link to the image

Okay, thanks for clearing that up.
Also, these are my two favorite quotes from the article:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"The experience cost six figures to produce, according to Hull, largely from private sponsors. It now services over a thousand visitors on a heavy day, with players forming lines at some of their installations."
and,
"I'm not really into ARGs," he said. "I just like fucking with people."

found this instructable and thought it'd be something the EPWA might put out.

Voice of Commander 14 I'm catching up on my video gaming and was surprised to hear Commander 14 in Half Life 2. The voice actor's name is Harry S. Robbins.
He appears in this TV interview:

whoa. crazy find. and now that i look up that name i find he's Dr. Hal! i've heard of Dr. Hal but never seen his show.

this guy isn't just the perfect voice for commander 14 but the best personality (see the 'how it works' section of the site)
unfortunately it looks like we just missed an opportunity to ask the great Commander/Doctor a question as the least show was on the 23rd. i guess we can only hope he makes another appearance. i, for one, would love to slip him a $20 and ask something like 'what are your thoughts on the number 16?' >:3

Dr. Hal. You always have the option of calling up the weekly radio show he is an integral part of and joining the mix of "disintegrating personalities" ... that is, if you are awake at 3-5am Friday mornings, I'm certainly not. Unless it's the fifth friday of the month, then that means it's Over the Edge.

Wow... that really is a trip.
I've heard Dr. Kleiner's voice so many times, and I've never put 2 and 2 together.
The producers really went all out getting some great voice actors for the Games of Nonchalance!

ok so for those who have been following this from the beginning the progression from act to act has been pretty fluid and for the most part pretty guided. The way we knew where to go was basically to wait at a dead end and then look for certain aspects of what we've already seen to change. But what of those who come after? sometimes a hallway full of open doors is harder to follow than one with only one door that you know will soon open. So here's my quick and dirty analysis of ways users just getting into this might progress to the point we're all at now. I've included three 'shortcuts' to show how some of the information that's required later on can be accessed earlier than needed and can actually allow you to skip parts of the adventure. THIS INCLUDES THE PATH ALL THE WAY UP TO ACT IV. IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE THE LATEST PORTION DO NOT LOOK.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Most Common Path:
JI Posters > jejuneinstitute.org / Jejune Institute Induction Center (ACT I) > Login: 3LS3WH3R3 > nonchalance.org/3/L/S/3/W/H/3/R/3 > Radio Nonchalance > Dolores Park / The Mission (ACT II) > elsewherepublicworks.com > &_5F-5@V@NT5 > rememberingeva.com > Reconstruction > Telegraph Hill (ACT III) > Film Yard Video > meetmeSPLAT thelostmixtape.com > Oakland Chapel of the Chimes (ACT IV) > group mix tapes > ?
The Shortcut (skipping ACT II, somewhat likely):
JI Posters > jejuneinstitute.org / Jejune Institute Induction Center (ACT I) > Login: 3LS3WH3R3 > nonchalance.or/3/L/S/3/W/H/3/R/3 > Kelvin Williams card > rememberingeva.wordpress.com > rememberingeva.com > Reconstruction > Telegraph Hill (ACT III) > Film Yard Video > meetmeSPLAT thelostmixtape.com > Oakland Chapel of the Chimes (ACT IV) > group mix tapes > ?
The Shortcut 2 (skipping ACT I, pretty unlikely):
EPWA Posters > internet search > elsewherepublicworks.com > Radio Nonchalance > Dolores Park / The Mission (ACT II) > &_5F-5@V@NT5 > rememberingeva.com > Reconstruction > Telegraph Hill (ACT III) > Film Yard Video > meetmeSPLAT thelostmixtape.com > Oakland Chapel of the Chimes (ACT IV) > group mix tapes > ?
The Shorcut 3 (skipping ACT I/II/III, very very unlikely)
Film Yard Video > meetmeSPLAT thelostmixtape.com > Oakland Chapel of the Chimes (ACT IV) > group mix tapes > ?
i'm planning to make a more detailed flowchart of this later on.

Max Crumb? Without giving away any spoilers- does anyone know Max Crumb's connection to all of this? I can't tell if he's an IG character, one of the collaborating artists, or whether his card contains a clue that I have yet to pick up on.
I'm completely fascinated with him and his brother. There is something about their artistic brilliance and their ability to somehow be completely unaffected by the rest of the world. It's almost like they've evolved one step further than most of us.
Some of the artwork- especially on a certain "official transcript"- has a bit of a Crumb brothers vibe, and I would love to know if it was done by Max.

it does have that sort of vibe but i recall someone meeting a friend of the person who did the work. i think i was able to find the guys work but i don't remember the site anymore but i don't think it was Max but i could be wrong.
as for the card itself there are a ton of cards in the 'space' that are personal and don't have any clues or relevant info on them and last i checked the max crumb card wasn't part of the original series when the site first opened up. it's actually a little annoying if you're new and wanna read up on the background info but keep coming across personal cards. i wish they separated the relevant ones from the personal ones somehow. like make them stand out more visually.
