[E-MAILS] Archie Rebel

I thought I'd open up a thread for posting the e-mails and direct messages we're having with Archie. I'm planning to do some serious e-mail correspondence with him Wink and think it would all help us to grasp the big picture if we share.

Interview with Archie

It seems like I got Archie for an interview! yay

here's what happened:

I sent him a msg on Facebook:

"I am not only a devoted fan of yours, but also the co-editor of an online news blog. May I conduct an interview with you, so the fans from all over the world can read about you? Of course we would include a picture and refer to your blog as well.
With adoration, PinkCloud"

Archie replied:
"A fan and a writer? I used to do a little journalism myself back in college. I'd be delighted to offer a few words of my wisdom to a fine journalist like yourself. I don't do "in person" interview after an awkward stalking incident last summer, but Skype has never failed me yet. Let me talk to my publicist to set up a date for you and I to talk? How does that sound?"

swoon! I kinda missed telling him that the interview will be done for our fabulous news blog "Grotian Grapevine" http://www.grotiangrapevine.blogspot.com/ and that we're Grotians, but I did now and stroke his ego a bit, so hopefully he'll stick with it.

so I wrote:

"Dear Archie
I'm sorry to hear that you were stalked last summer. Did somebody try to touch your mustache?
I would be very honored to skype with you. Thank you so much for replying so kindly. We fans can only estimate how busy you must be! Are you thinking about video chat, so that everbody will get a chance to see you? Anything is fine with me.
Your publicist might like to know what the interview is for. It's the news blog "Tales from the Tunnels: The Grotian grapevine" http://www.grotiangrapevine.blogspot.com/. I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but the Grotians are huge fans of yours. They snatch every book about you, every flyer, every poster that shows you and your mustache. It's hard to be a fan when you live underground, but nothing is more rewarding. The Grotians, young and old, will have a bright star lightning up their tunnels when they will watch your interview... it might be one small step for you, but a giant leap for the Grotians!"

maybe a bit too much? lol

Think it's just the right amount of sucking up to win him over. Job well done! Will dig a bit so can help with the interview questions.

Interview with Archie

Archie agrees, yay!

Quote:
The Grotian Grapevine? Sounds like a bad $5 wine company. I was never in the habit of hurting or putting down the Grotians nor was I ever in the habit of helping them.

Getting involved with a group like this could end me up on one of those celebrity tabloid magazines at the grocery store. Though they say "there's no such thing as bad publicity." Plus, if what you tell me is true, I cannot deprive my fans, no matter what their social status, of getting to hear me.

While video chat would be ideal, I spoke to my financial adviser who told me that I didn't have money in my budget for a web cam due to last month's "over-spend" on conditioner. None the less I look forward to our skype interview. I will get back to you soon with a date and time range and you let me know what is good for you.

Thanks for being a fan!

-Archie.

Update on Archie's blog....

Just for backstory Winston T. Pistolsniffer is Sticky Itchers' Randy Porknut's uncle.

update on our FB conversation.
for Grotian eyes only.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

I had asked Archie about the location of Jameson's grave and about information concerning the shield.

"Ms. Cloud,

I do not know anything about the Proscript's history. I don't even pay attention to my own family history. I'm sorry. I wish I could be more help.

I am making a PSA for the party. This was a requirement upon my release this weekend. The Party seems to have more of a vested interest in my talent now. Don't worry, though, Archie does not abandon his fans.

About the suggestion to audition for James Bond, I like the idea. I will get my agent to look into that.

Thanks for being a fan!
-Archie"

I replied with my concern for his safety and had added a trap which would show if somebody else would read and answer for him (wrote Molly instead of Katie). He's safe Smile

"Ms. Cloud
I assure you im ok. I just need to be more careful about how
I deal with my fan interactions. Nothing to worry about as long as we
keep our conversations out of sight of party members. I'm glad my code
worked. I was quite worried it wouldn't. I received my PSA script. It's not
very good but what can you expect from an amateur writer unlike
yourself. Enjoyed the article you wrote about me by the way. An
excellent journalist you are Ms. Cloud. I don't know who Molly is my
poem was written by my number one fan Katie. If Molly also wants to
write me a poem I'd be happy to keep it with me. I now keep Katie's poem
in my pocket since it was stolen from my house.
Thanks for being a fan
Archie"

Call me crazy, but has anybody attempted to get Archie and LOTI in the same room? Perhaps with Earl, too? If we could somehow get LOTI to convince Archie to switch sides, we'd have a powerful spokesman and someone to take the attention from our leader, perhaps easing his fears...

alright, I wrote to Archie the command phrase "Garfield's Glory" to see if he's re-educated, and he writes back:

Quote:

I don't think I understand what you mean. What about Garfield's Glory?

Thanks for being a fan!

guess not. He just seemed a bit robotlike in his PSA imo. Rolling Eyes thought I'd give it a try. still hoping he would actually do something besides telling us to work together.

edit:
my response:

Quote:

nevermind. What do you think of his treatment of the Grotians these days? Martial law?! Killing more Grotians? I understand that lots of party people are not trusting Jameson anymore. What do you think about that? Does he still have many followers? Proscripts don't want us killed either, I know that.

and Archie responded with:

Quote:

Ms. Cloud,

I heard of the killings over the weekend. I hope there won't be any more. I was never a big fan of Jameson in the first place. Martial law might be going to far. After my testimonial for the Grotians he ordered that I make the PSA. I was happy to have Ms. Nephthys write it for me. She seems to have both the Party and the Grotian's interest at heart. I wish you and your friends luck in your struggle.

Thanks for being a fan!

mmh. martial law MIGHT be going too far? and good luck? Mad
somewhere in my gamer heart I still hope that Archie will help us. I know - I'm hopeless Wink
