[UPDATES] Twitter Tweets! @intimation & @eridanos01 I thought it would be a good idea just to make a thread to keep the tweets in one place.
Today's New Tweets:
>>Sys:Log//21 new incoming tentacles logged. Stonewall cohesion fluctuating. Continuing rebuild.
>Sys//Minimal capabilities restored. Begin systems analysis and maintenance. Review network tentacle activity backlogs.
>>Sys:Log//Status:Rebuild/Standby

Using this thread for intimation's newest twitters since [s]he's being chatty again:
Quote:
>>Sys:Log//My system rebuild progress is currently at approx. ~40% completion and rising. Essential functions re-established.
Quote:
>>Sys:Msg>@lafinj @dreamerblueon @essyfan @drizjr @7urducken @ancalime @anaerin @snorkle256 @krystyn//My gratitude to all, and many more.
Quote:
>>Sys:Log//I will have limited capability during my rebuild process. The slipspace rift is having an effect on Stonewall integrity, however-
Quote:
>>Sys:Log//Its strength is waning. SWP suggests this is to be expected as the rift closes. It would then follow that SWP was successful.
Quote:
>>Sys:Log//While not at full capability, I've detected additional signal bursts from the interference. I will continue to have S2 archive.

Yeah, it's nice to have Sys back in charge of the reports...the S* subroutines are a little dry .

Yes, Sys is being chatty alright. I got the following DM from him:

Latest from @intimation:

Re: [UPDATES] Twitter Tweets! Now what? I've been thinking of SYS as a much more advanced version of SPDR (System Peril Distributed Reflex) from ILB. SPDR was fairly rudimentary and frankly stupid; following Melissa's "shipwreck" here, it makes some sense that they'd develop a version much more capable of dealing with a similar situation, as well as institute a formal protocol for it.
At the conclusion of ILB, the AI fragments in our time reintegrated with their original; SPDR, however, remained in our time (see http://www.ilovebees.com ). So I sent a direct message a couple of hours ago (before @intimation had tweeted about the possible effects of resynchronization):

As tempting as it is to say, "Make up fun puzzles for us forever!" I don't think that's quite what she has in mind. Any thoughts?

Guess that presents an interesting problem. You said that SPDR was rather "dumb," so leaving it here without a purpose is not a big deal. But Sys has a personality, and though she is just a layer of an AI, is an AI in her own right. She'll need something to keep her occupied while she's here.

I like that idea!

I like that idea, too!
But I wonder if SYS is looking to go home with Eridanos. I would rather see her end up with Anaerin. I'm sure he would provide a much better home for her.
!SPDR run
!SYS attach
Oh...oh, and then Eridanos and Anaerin could battle it out again.

Yeah, I don't think Anaerin would dissect Sys to see how she worked... At least, I hope he wouldn't!
Interesting how Essy managed to leave a layer of herself behind in her dream. It's like a part of her just... didn't wake up. Weird.

But @eridanos01 might!

Interesting. Since yesterday's tweets, I had been assuming that the end of this story was more or less foreordained: that Sys would reintegrate with Essy before the slipspace signal abated entirely, and would thereupon return to the future. But perhaps not.
So what do we think? Should we encourage Sys to reintegrate with Sacagawea? It seems to me that, once SWP terminates, there won't really be any more Sys; at best, she'll be dormant, awaiting the (extremely unlikely) future occurrence of a similarly disastrous event. No doubt that is what her programmers envisioned and planned for her.
But I believe that circumstances have already caused Sys to evolve beyond her initial programming. I keep thinking (fondly) of the week she tried to imitate Essy's childlike behavior : ">>Sys:Log//Hee hee. That tickles. S you are tickling me and it feels funny. I am ticklish, yes, I am. Hee hee." She confessed that she had never before attempted to emulate emotion, and also that she was making mistakes although that "should not be possible." I think it is evident that Sys is no longer quite the same as when she first activated.
No doubt @eridanos01 would have a number of ideas on how best to make Sys productive should she stay behind (whether through misfortune or choice). And for all we know this mysterious Society, of whom we have learned so little, might also have an agenda relevant to this subject. But what do we think?

You know, Shad0, I had almost forgotten about the Society. They sure didn't have a very large hand in all of this. I can't help but wonder if we're not done with them?

Perhaps the evolution SYS has already gone through would improve Sacagawea's systems?
I dunno, I just feel that if there's a chance for SYS to reintegrate, and we don't have any particular identified in-game goals for her "here," then we should encourage her to reintegrate.

Aww, that's bittersweet.
I think our last chance of something happening is if something goes terribly wrong during the rebuild. (runs and gets "Futuristic Artificial Intelligence Sabotage For Dummies"

Well, I went ahead and suggested that SYS move in with Anaerin.
Let's see what she says.
