THE SWORD THIEF - BEWARE OF SPOILERS
BEWARE OF SPOILERS

Feel free to discuss Book 3, but if you haven't read the book, beware of spoilers.

If you have questions about the book, new insight, or simply want to explain why there is a picture of a guy on the Samurai Saladin page, and not a picture of a cat, go ahead. Please keep Spoiler information out of the main thread.

Alistair Oh

I seem to be generally ignored in the other thread, so I shall try this one instead.

I definitely don't know where the authors are going with Alistair.
I mean, in the first two books I think he plays a confused character. Not confusing, just confused. As if, he's only going on the hunt for the thrill of the adventure.

Now, TST comes out and there's so many more layers to him.
Is he only on the hunt to find his cousin?
And...what's up with the end? He left his cousin there after threatening him.

I assumed (and would feel really stupid if I was wrong) that he is in fact, alive in the end, and the one who is threatening Bae.

However, you get the whole, "I promised your mother and father" bit at the part where he's helping out Amy and Dan.

I'm just confused about him right now... Any theories?

ALSO! Was anyone else ticked off when Ian turned out to be an idiot?
I mean, I expected it...but still. >_> [/hopeless romantic]

Hmmm...what else?

I don't like where they're going with the whole Philosophers Stone thing. I sincerely hope that THAT'S not what the end of the 39 Clues brings us to. =\

And I definitely thought this book was much more outlandish and technical than the first two. Maybe that's just me. I didn't like the new author. >_>

Anyways, thoughts? Comments? Any response...whatsoever?

He is alive! I felt like crying..... but when I read the last couple o' pages... Embarassed . And.... where was Jonah?

P.S. Bae is his Uncle... not cousin.

Yeah.
I promise I knew that.
>_>
Embarassed

My roommate is reading it right now, but I'm going to reread it in a day or two.

I really thought Alistair was dead. The yakuza chase was exciting!

As for Jonah, maybe he was watching from the sidelines, observing Amy, Dan, Alistair and the Kabras trying to learn their weaknesses. Or maybe he had a world tour to attend to or Japan was not cool enough for him.

P.S: Glalieguy, shouldn't it be Cairo-to find the 9th clue instead of 10th?

It says: 'The competition is about Hope'. You solve it by using the in-book decoder

Well, I don't know why, but I did get the idea that the guy at the subwat station might actually be Bae. I tried tallying his appearance with his given discription in TST, and found that quite a lot of elements match. And as for the photo, its possible that they just wanted to give Bae's appearance for staters in that card.

What do you think?
