Notice how he mentions the Apple computer, along with the "pay attention to hardware" note.

What are the japanese words for revolution and expecting?
Maybe the japanese filenames are a hint... ?
I dunno, I'm grasping at straws here..

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe we need something Mac-related?

If this page isn't wrong, then...

Revolution (English) = Revolución (Spanish) = Kakumei (Japanese)

Quote:

kakumei「革命」revolución sci

But I can't find there "Expecting" or "Expect".

Good catch with the Apple reference!

I was looking at stuff following little threads, but didn't come up with anything useful.

Here's some of the ideas I was having

Basil Valentine was involved with alchemy. So I thought maybe some alchemy symbols would be related. I found several versions of the one for silver. One of which looks like the 3 symbols surrounding the central one from the A-T video. Another one kind of looks like the 2nd rune in the kitsune image. The circle with the line from it could also be the alchemical symbol for "night"

I dunno, just some things to think about.

Dubrovin mentioned that the 2nd symbol was a "triad" or a combination of 3 symbols. What could they be? I already suggested two Ur runes together, but any other ideas?

Dubrovin seemed convinced that "Basil Valentine" was a red herring. Maybe Patrick was "Basil Valentine"?

Doesn't the fake google page look like it is made from a Mac? I do not own a Mac, but the buttons seem to be rounded just like on a Mac.

I don't know how this would help you , but I'm just putting it out there. Wink

I'm not familiar with Macs... Don't they have like meta data or resource tags attached to files? How portable is all that?

And, this might sound stupid, but has anyone tried using "Basil Valentine" or "Basilus Valentis" (however it is) as the password to these things?

ETA:

Star, these people are creative designers. They do *EVERYTHING* on a Mac, I imagine... Razz

Yeah, they do look like Safari buttons.

As for whether or not Macs have their own metadata, I would not be surprised at all. However, I thought that file metadata was stored in separate files, since OSX doesn't use alternate data streams.

I downloaded a tool called StegSpy (http://www.spy-hunter.com/stegspydownload.htm) and scanned our 2 png's with it. And here's the results

kakurenai.png

Steganography found at marker position 4383863
Hiderman program detected!

I checked that picture with Hiderman, but that program didn't find anything.
Also, 4383863 is 42E477 in hex, i cheched with hex editor and there wasn't anything special

But yeah, they do have meta data attached to files (it's really not even that different from PC meta-data), but I didn't see anything useful (or even anything at all) in the meta-data for either image. It might be stored in another file (don't they do that on Macs?), but if so we don't have them. It could be you have to do something with them you can only do on a Mac, but I know too little about Macs to know what that might be. As for the password, I don't think anyone's tried that. It might be worth a shot but, if indeed there is a password at all, Dubrovin seemed convinced it would be either "REvOlUTion" or "ExPECTinG." At least that was my interpretation: keys are usually used to unlock locks, right?

Maybe we're thinking about the "keys" and "locks" in the wrong context??

Yeah, I just looked into that. I have almost no Mac experience, haha.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ResEdit

A program for viewing Mac "resource forks", which could potentially hold metadata / embedded data. Maybe it's worth a try?

EDIT: Perhaps one picture is the "revolution" picture and the other is "expecting".

I don't see why not. We don't really seem to have any other good leads at the moment.

I thought that was the case originally. It doesn't seem to be working, though. Is there any other way to apply a text string to an image file?
