I still think that translating the text on the images and examining them more closely is the way to go.

Well it was pretty much agreed on that the runes on the kitsune image meant something like, "water ceremony".

I don't speak either language that is on the second picture, but the bottom caption seems to say Imperial Palace of Dolma Baghtche?

I just checked out the Armanen Futharkh again and the Rit with 2 Ur's (plus some unknown symbol)
could also mean Ceremony of the "Mother; Origin of manifestation"
http://www.geocities.com/irminenschaft/Cosmology/ModernRunes.html

I really want to know what the small line above the 2nd symbol is, though.

On the second picture centered is the caption "Palais Imperial de Dolma Baghtche" which is the name of the palace. On the left it says "Constantinople" (but it's Istanbul not Constantinople haha), and on the right it says "Abdullah" and then a second word I can't quite make out. "Freires," possibly?

The caption at the top is Turkish, I'm pretty sure, but I don't speak Turkish and online translators don't work with image captures.

Now that's starting to sound familiar.

My friend mentioned something that caught my interest. He was asking if anything big happened at the palace, and the only thing I could think of was that the Sultan lived there, and then eventually lost power, and he said wouldn't that be a revolution? And looking at the other picture, it looks as if they are expecting something, like a ceremony perhaps? Wink

But we still don't know what to do with the actual passwords, so not really THAT much of help, just something that I found interesting.

Well, if that number on the bottom left of the painting (482) represents the year, then at the time of the painting it would still be named Constantinople instead of Istanbul, wouldn't it?

Maybe the passwords are to understand something relationate to the history of the pictures, instead of a passwords to descipher some unknown message behind the .png.

Sorry, that was a They Might Be Giants joke. A little lapse in protocol. My bad.

Wait...what does 482 represent? It can't be the year (in both 482 and even 1482 the palace wasn't constructed yet). Also: the dates are interesting. Abdul Hamid II was married a few times in the palace, but his marriage to Gwashemach'e wasn't done there. According to the videos she basically grew up there, but then they both left very early on. We know that for certain. He wouldn't have returned to Constantinople until just before his deposition (the only time he would be expecting revolution), which was MUCH later on. It would have been 12 years after the birth of his child with Gwaschemach'e (who would've been born when she was 13, I think).

Gwashemach'e was born in the palace, I believe. When her mother was sold to the Sultan's harem. She then travelled and after her mother's death, returned to the palace where she met Abdul Hamid II, and they married. Not sure where they married? Also, they had a daughter, but she died about a year after birth.
In 1909, the year of the, well Revolution, the palace was burned out.
And if Gwashemach'e was born in 1877, and had the child in 1900, that would make her 23.

Isn't that a different palace?

I found an unrelated picture on Kadomony's link of another building with a 4** number in it. 402 to be precise. I have a feeling the numbers are categorical in nature, perhaps month and day. and not related to the game.

on a side note. I am clueless when it comes to reading file formats(if thats even what you call it >_<). I do find the use of capitalization and lowercase letters in REvOlUTion ExPECTinG peculiar. is it possible the CAPS and the lower case letters are meant to be paired seperated and used as two seperate codes. that being,REOUT EPECTG, and vlion xin? just a thought.

EDIT: I ran both of those through an anagram decoder and vlion xin produced absolutely zero results while nothing in the caps letters stood out

You're right about the age and wrong about the palace, EverBlue. It was, as kadomony suggested, a different palace. The age confusion is my fault, however. I am apparently an idiot who cannot add/subtract.

On an unrelated note, at this point unless someone can speak Turkish, I might suggest returning to the Mac thing.
