Documentary (real) Film?

Hi, I am new here (almonst, I was the Guest on another thread).

I am also relatively new to ARG or Cf. But I pitched the idea to a producer to make a doc on ARGs, and she loved it.

I just want to check with you guys if you have had the chance to watch any documentary on the subject matter, apart from the short news reports.

Thanks

New Media Literacies came out with Learn About Big Games which, while not about ARGs per se, does discuss them.

Thanks notgordian that was really interesting actually. You'd think there would be more films about ARGs and viral marketing by now, it's such a huge area for documentarians - the guy that made The King of Kong should make one. At least he understands video games...

I don't know but I'm going to predict that the big summer film this year, Inception, will have a big ARG/viral presence - I bet 42 Entertainment are working on it as we speak Wink

Actually, my project has 2 documentaries.

A first one on a given subject, a social issue, or a fascinating subject matter. Then we launch the ARG related with that 1st film, and then we make a second documentary, on the players and the makers of the game.

My producer and I are wanting to find a subject matter that will get us an important sponsor attached to it.

I don't know much about the documentary film space, so can't really comment on why there aren't more.

What we do have, however, are a whole bunch of post-game case studies (both by fans and the developers) that provide brief audiovisual summaries of past campaigns. Some of these videos may have been reposted. No particular order, and the list is by no means comprehensive. I've been making note of the videos when I can, with the intent of putting up a resource page when I have more time.
