Just don't have to be admitted to one of those internet rehab clinics and we'll be a-okay Razz

and please please please don't start any international incidents.
We had quite the stir here when I came across this whole thing to begin with. We don't need any int'l scares.

This seems odd to me. Now obviously I'm not about to piss off a country "for the lulz," but the question is, if we're not intended to (which I hope is the case), why would PM (I think it's best if we refer to the IG and OOG incarnations separately) include that? It's an interesting choice.

I have ZERO idea, but I know it's a monster I will not touch with a ten foot pole. And in all honesty... Despite how tempting things can be and how badly I want to conclude all this and put it away.... I will not risk myself for something like this. It is simply not worth it. in any way shape or form.

Wait, you mean that the US intelligence community is watching this?

ha, how do you think I got involved in this?

I came across it by accident doing real world data mining for work. Razz
we just briefly looked at it and saw it was a game so it was immediately dismissed, but yes it was noticed.

Well, I assumed it was noticed, but watched? Not so much. Razz

To add on to what Mr. Dubrovin said recently... I forgot to post this:

Quote:
Tutanda,

I am not a code breaker. I can pass the data along but not provide immediate answers. Because of the communications setup I have with Alfa-Tsentr, everything has to go through a couple filters and everytime information goes back and forth. I therefore recommend that you rely primarily upon your own team's resources.

I am aware that our target suspect has somehow managed to communicate with some members of your team, perhaps tauting them a bit. Don't let this be a distraction to the task at hand. It is exactly what they want us to do right now—lose sight of the objective. Please provide leadership to these men. We are in dire circumstances.

A.D.

I think the latter half may have something to do with the N. Korea crap that's being spread around.

Let's get back to what the dark corner stuff is about and put the korea stuff on the backburner.

That's just my two cents. We should get to work on that FTP protocal.
I'll check to see if my buddy has made any headway. He knows his shit. He showed me some things that blew my mind the other day.

I don't think the FTP stuff should really be messed with a whole lot, but I guess it's worth a shot, since we can't get access to root.

But yeah, let's forget the Korea stuff for now.

174.133.240.117 is open on 21 (ftp), 22 (ssh), 80 (obviously).

finger port isn't open which means it's going to be a little difficult coming up with a valid username for port 21.

I have no clue what that means Razz a friend is working on all that stuff and whatnot, trying to find more out about the servers they're using specifically.

Because the PM is an irresponsible jackass doing it for realism's sake.

Like I said before: he wants to be the Andy Warhol of ARGs.

if your friend can actually find a way to retrieve an etc/passwd we might be able to make some headway. understand though, that we are hacking a server now.

Immediately after posting my above remarks i recieved this:

Quote:
Mr. Tutanda,

We were alerted by one of your team that you might be planning an intrusion into the terrorist's servers?

Please be advised that the 5 known IPs used by the terrorists are currently monitored intel assets. I have been advised by Alfa-Tsentr's signal intel commander that these servers are NOT to be disrupted. If needed, I can put through a request for more information to their specialists.

Please acknowledge your understanding that these servers are NOT to be entered without seeking prior approval.

A. Dubrovin

lol WHOOPS. that was probably me when i'd misinterpreted you, AAT. i started port scanning/telnet into alfa-tsentr.ru and menoftaste.com

lol if they found my IP hitting both servers (which starts with a 70), that was my bad.

do you think dubrovin knows who owns the false google site? should we still be attempting to break into it?
