Saw the musical on Broadway, and cried at the end. Read the book, loved it. Something tells me this won't be as amazing as I hope, but I will try it out anyways Smile

It seems to have important ties to Coney Island, which could be set up nicely for an ARG.

I don't believe it's an ARG. I think the date October 8th is the date they are announcing the opening dates for the play.

I was introduced to the joys of the Phantom of the Opera through playing ARGs. So even though I would love for this to be a game, I'm a bit sceptical at this point.

I have previously read The Phantom of Manhattan which is described as a sequel to the Weber play, not the original novel. I agree with the Amazon reviewers who claim that it fails to capture the spirit of the Phantom. It tells of the Phantom designing attractions at Coney Island. I don't recommend the book, but it could make for an interesting ARG.
