Patrick Marckesano - The Not-So-Out-Of-Game PM

Hold on to your hats, boys...

Since the PM has apparently decided to insert himself in to the game, I figured he merits his own thread. Especially after this I just received.

The following email chain was received by me to my corporate account (... @ dlimedia.com), but was NOT directly sent to me. They were from Patrick to himself, and I'm assuming I was BCC-ed.

The IP address it came from (69.255.40.77) is confirmed and known to be Patrick's.

Quote:
Dear Special Delegate Cao de Benos,

Thank you for your attention to my correspondence. My organization is
indeed very interested to be fostering business ties with the IKBC and
explore option of doing business in DPRK.

My company Alfa-Tsentr is a contractor performing wide range of
logistical, human resource, and supply missions. Our origin is security
company in Russia during 1990's but our capabilities and range of
geographical operations has greatly increased over last decade.

We are interested in DPRK for precise reasons you mention: production and
labour. After doing exploratory series of inquiries and research we would
articulate definitive proposal. But general sense, we are interested in
following:

PRODUCTION INSIDE DPRK

- refurbishment of construction and military transport vehicles
- refurbishment of common manufacture (Russian/Chinese) small arms
- manufacture of industrial grade textile-based uniforms and equipment

We have all specifications and engineering knowledge for above. What we
are seeking is adept workforce and manufacture facilities to handle
significant volumes of steady repair and refurbishment.

HUMAN RESOURCE USE OUTSIDE DPRK:

Within Russia, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan we are interested in outsourcing
mining and construction labour. We have large scale excavation and
building projects in all aforementioned nations that require reliable,
medium skill workforce that may relocate to various sites and remain for
duration of projects.

We have had great difficulty retaining such labour among local population
at project sites. Therefore we seek to train such a workforce and allocate
them to subsequent projects. We can provide very adequate living and care
amenities for workforces up to 5,000 persons per site. If providing such a
migrant workforce is possible for DPRK, there could be discussion of
meeting challenges with trade and immigration regulations. These are least
prohibitive in Kyrgyzstan and so this nation is likely candidate for trial
program.

Thank you for considering this initial request, Mr. Cao de Benos. My
company and I look forward to fostering new communications with IKBC and
DPRK in the future and look forward to your reply.

Best regards,
M Kokovtseff
Alfa-Tsentr Contract Negotiator

Dear Mr. Kokovtseff,

Thank you for your email.

After receiving your requests, I have been consulting last 2 days with our
government and companies concerned.

We have the capacity for all the fields you are interested in.

- refurbishment of construction and military transport vehicles
- refurbishment of common manufacture (Russian/Chinese) small arms
- manufacture of industrial grade textile-based uniforms and equipment
- outsourcing mining and construction labour.

May I suggest that we start with a concrete project, know each other and
move from there on.

Regarding sensitive subjects and for security reasons (weapons-related and
military vehicles) we should have a first discussion in Pyongyang.
Our next business visit is scheduled for october.

About permits, we have also good relations at diplomatical level with some
countries that will facilitate visas to our workers.

If you happen to visit Bangkok and wish to have a previous interview to
exchange some ideas, you are welcome to our overseas office. I will be in
Thailand from 20th august until end of september.

I will be back to Bangkok from 16th August to 10th September aprox. Let's
contact after 16th august by e-mail or in the phone number:

+66 896435353

for fixing the previous meeting in Thailand.

In any case, the visa details and objectives must be ready at the
beginning of september to secure enough time.

Thank you and looking forward to meet you,

Alejandro Cao de Benos
Special Delegate
Government of the DPR of Korea

I know you people work for my old boss Dubrovin and that cheeky Spanish Mao, Mr. Alejandro.

I retained an FTP login to MoT that let's me access mail directories. Forwarded what I found to the NYTimes.

Oh and my IP—trace it and you'll go right to Langley's proxy. Figure that one out yet? Wink

Good luck finding me.

So we now have two more emails, a new link, and a new phone number. Patrick must want us to call these, since he so blatantly included them.

I don't know if we need to pursue this yet. We just started the Dubrovin stuff. I think we ought to follow that thread a while first.

Now, that I realize it, let me come out and say that it is not recommended to start spamming "korea-dpr.com"... That is the country's REAL website, and you don't want to start an international incident.

Yeah, seriously, don't contact that number.

It's the actual country.

agreed. That is too far. really. I'm sorry, but if that is required for this ARG then I will have to digress. I do not want to; however, I will not put myself at risk for this.

This game is now officially the single most interesting thing I've ever been involved with.

Just don't have to be admitted to one of those internet rehab clinics and we'll be a-okay Razz

and please please please don't start any international incidents.
We had quite the stir here when I came across this whole thing to begin with. We don't need any int'l scares.

Wait, you mean that the US intelligence community is watching this?

This seems odd to me. Now obviously I'm not about to piss off a country "for the lulz," but the question is, if we're not intended to (which I hope is the case), why would PM (I think it's best if we refer to the IG and OOG incarnations separately) include that? It's an interesting choice.

ha, how do you think I got involved in this?

I came across it by accident doing real world data mining for work. Razz
we just briefly looked at it and saw it was a game so it was immediately dismissed, but yes it was noticed.
