I thought this was a great game: really interesting and in-depth without being overly ambitious. I happen to be a real fan of history, so I got sucked in pretty easily.

For future reference, this is where I got the newspaper article: http://www.newspaperarchive.com. I didn't actually use the cached blogs until it came down to finding you. Not sure why I ignored the blogs until that, but that's why I didn't immediately know where to send the note.

Some things I was expecting: I was all ready for a dead drop near Paul's gravesite, or something like that (or, at least ready to beg my friends to go look). A list of uhmm... residents at the Presidio cemetery are available online. I was also completely confused at first about the German thing, but it makes perfect sense now.

That was really nicely done and entertaining, Mlitsonata. Good job!

Thanks!

Your right, a dead drop at the grave would have been a great idea. I will for sure make the next one more interactive in the regard. Very cool that you are a member of newspaperarchives.com. I had been in the past - but I've been using Ancestry lately which has Census and other documents as well. I wrongly assumed that most users wouldn't be members of those websites, glad to see I was wrong about that Smile.

Very cool Mlitsonata! Wow, you only learned about ARG's a week before creating your own? Way to jump in!! I love the whole idea of historically-based ARG - as well as combining all of the genealogy sites that are online into an ARG! I can understand why it was so short - hopefully you will one day try for a longer one (though single-handedly pulling off an ARG always seems like a huge task to me! Now that you have joined the community, perhaps you will find other PM's to work with - this is certainly a nice little piece to have on your "resume"!).

Congrats, Disza! Very well played!! It's almost as if you got your own private ARG - of course it's to your credit that you solved it yourself without help! You have a great eye for detail and puzzles, and I loved you're conversations with the "ghost"!

I'm sorry that I did not investigate that add to my Twitter sooner (I had too much other stuff going on - I didn't even open the email informing me about the add to my Twitter until this morning, and it's already over! LOL!). Still, it was fun to read the FB and Twitter stuff, and then come here and read the wrap-up. Very informative, as well! (I don't think either of you need my appreciation, but I didn't want to ignore this!) Very cool! Very Happy

Thanks osofine! Smile

And PS - love your avatar pic, I don't know what it is about that painting but I've always loved it - the mirror is the most intriguing part.

While I'd like to take the credit for solving without help, it was truly a group effort. Whenever we knew that Mich was "awake" several of us would basically assault him with questions, which would lead to other questions, etc. My only concern with this kind of format would be scalability. If 100 people are asking questions, it could get really unwieldy and FB might not be the best place for that... Just something to think about for the next, I guess. Smile

And yes, I do feel incredibly special to be involved in such an intimate project.

Yes, I realized the same things. I'm already planning my next game, but I know the platform will have to be different and only partially incorporate FB (if at all). The organizational aspect was way to difficult. For instance, a lot of people asked me questions in private messages - but I needed my responses to be public - so that everyone had access and could move forward. Answers were all over the place which meant a lot of unorganized reading for the players, especially if the were coming in late in the game.

The next game should be interesting. It will also be primarily character driven and far more extensive. Will make sure to let you all know about it.

Hey, sorry the ARG is over, I'm just using it as my new profile for all my ARG stuff for the future. It's better to keep it separate from personal FB account so friends and family don't get freaked out by the weird stuff I write, lol. Although I don't think I've sent any friends requests from the profile in a while, maybe Facebook is a little slow with the auto e-mails Smile

Yeah, it is OOG now. I believe that the PM is now using Mich Missdassein as her FB persona. (See the entries above - or below if you do descending Wink)
