I now there is not much interest in this here, but just in case. We tried to start a google group but now every time I try to create a page I get the "I"m Sorry" message (oh the irony) which supposedly is triggered by too many google searches. I am not even doing any searching though. However the groups are set to autosave content so maybe that triggers it, but since that is Google's own design this suggests to me that they prefer we not use Google groups. I suggested they simply not offer the service at all, as this is an easier way to get people to stop using it. I suppose my language was not quite that polite.

So back to the drawing board. Will update as soon as we can figure out how this is going to work. Meanwhile, if you are interested you might want to brush up on your Kabbalah as that seems to inform the structure of this quite a bit.

Hey, what if I'm just nuts? That could be, so here is what you can do. I started a wiki on this with the help of a couple friends. Right now there is little more content than just having copied the stories over and added an intro. So if you want to lurk awhile as we get some content up, then the best way to "join" let me know. I would prefer that you stay a nonmember if you just want to read the wiki but that is very welcome indeed. If you decide you want to get more involved, then just let me know.

Just received a link to this forum, having encountered this story (the last statue) earlier this year and having read the now-defunct blog that attempted to unravel this thing.

First off, I notice the bizarre turn this thread has taken, particularly the post by Seganosaurus Rex on 9/24 8:55pm, wherin SR (to what degree of seriousness I am uncertain) asks that "if anyone hears about a suicide of a forty something woman of artistic temperment, do let me know".

Then on 9/25 11:14am Birdmadgirl123 posts a link to a news item announcing the suicide of Nelly Arcan, a 36 year-old French-Canadian former prostitute turned novelist.

This would seem, at first glance, to be merely a sad coincidence, but like everything else involved in this puzzle, a connective web of synchronistic links seems to hover relentlessly.

The reason, I assume, for SR's comment in the first place, would be the increasingly disturbing content of the "messages" posted on the Kenoma and Untermeyer blogs which I understand are operated by the Last Statue authors. These posts start, after months of inactivity, on 9/18 ending on 9/24, seven days later. Of interest are the constant references to suicide, transformation/identity change, and the number seven, plus the lyric fragment under "note to self" on Untermeyer "you should know how all the pros play the game" which in the context of the song from which it is excerpted, is a very likely reference to prostitution.

We also notice talk of stalking and the murder of Ioan Culianu in the posted comments leading up to the "disappearance" of the Kenoma and Untermeyer bloggers, whose final posts also reference Culianu, and paranoiac lyric fragments: "strange days have found us/strange days have tracked us down", the last post (9/24) on the KK blog referencing "a stairway to heaven" which is evidently a book by Peter Levenda, having something to do with the series of astral "clues" posted on the 2 blogs.

One thing I have noticed in the story LS and the blogs presumably by the same authors is a certain stylistic economy of words employed to yield a multitude of meanings. Therefore when a phrase or title is repeated more than once, one might presume we were meant to take special notice, which would seem to be the case with the title "Heaven's Gate", which occurs three times within the first two pages.

The title of Ms. Arcan's soon to be published fourth novel, is loosely and unofficially translated as "Heaven's Gatekeeper". Shortly before her death Ms. Arcan published a magazine story about being stalked.

In chapter 3 of 'Statue' there is a reference to a Canadian crime family with a "Montreal mouthpiece which hooks them up to some Brit spies running Big Dope out of Montego Bay" which would possibly connect to the Canadian dope connections behind the scenes in the Manson murders
some of whom might include Billy Doyle, Pic Dawson, and Bill Mentzer.

The Montreal mouthpiece connected to "Brit spies in Montego Bay" sounds a whole lot like one Louie Mortimer Bloomfield, attorney for the Bronfman family, onetime CEO of Permindex, which some researchers connect to Halliburton, while others connect Bloomfield/Permindex to the JFK assassination. Also worth a glance would be links to McGill university (MK-ULTRA, Janine Houard, and Leonard Cohen)
