What if Marble Hornets wasn't the actual movie? Maybe Alex used Marble Hornets as an excuse and a vehicle to video himself and Slender Man. It's apparent that Marble Hornets was poorly written and not very well done, which could show that he threw the idea together rather quickly and enacted it to get to filming as soon as possible.

I can't give any facts to support this, just an odd crappy theory.

we haven't got a script, so we can't say the writing is poor, and the not very well done could eb due to slender man's influence, but, i guess it could happen

Best analysis yet, Morscata. I don't know if the film they're making really has anything to do with the story itself, or if it's just a plot device, but I'm inclined to say the latter. That is, I think that there are elements that came to be because of the filming of Marble Hornets, but that all-in-all the only reason for the plot of the film is because it would seem kind of strange to have film students going out and making a film about...wait, what are they making a film about anyway?

I will say, however, that I will be rather let down if the titular marble hornet doesn't make some kind of show, or at least get a mention in the case of Alex.
