"The cultural jammers, cultural saboteurs, are advertising groups, communication artists and professionals that, taking advantage of an individual's/consumer's addiction to publicity, inoculate into mind television advertising, pseudo-events, posters, stickering, fake sites, underhanded viruses that replicate themselves among the minds provoking semantic short circuits and derailment of the advertising content from the straight path of produce-consume-die".

That was is a direct quote from the female owner of the site. I honestly do not think its an ARG. Probably just another of their "very badly" done artistic style fake sites. The guy is prob some politician or artist somewhere or something they studied at university..

But an arg? my vote is no.. She seems like the kind of woman (after reading the entire linked interview) that you would have to sleep next to with one eye open.. kinda a nutt case lol

course I could be 100% wrong as well. But I do agree, if it IS an arg it is done very bad..

A media blogger reported this week about the phenomenon and gave links to some explanation. Agency Spy here comments on what this other blogger has to say, including further links to more analysis. I think we could debate the label of "hoax", but it's definitely not an ARG.

The first thing I thought after seeing this was that it was a poor imitation of the ubiquitous JR Bob Dobbs.

Something to do with the new Nightmare on Elm Street movie. The Face looks alot like Jackie Earle Haley, the actor how portrayed Rorschach in The Watchmen movie. He is playing Freddy Krueger in the reimagining, It fits the MO of freddy what with him being dream based and what not.

This is not my original idea, found it on another website. Though you guys might want it.

 EVER DREAM THIS MAN?
Guy that appears in dreams. Viral? Or bollocks?

http://thisman.org/

This might be a clumsy experiment, but somehow I doubt it. It really looks like an attempt at viral marketing.

I think it might be either INCEPTION or NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET... it could be completely unrelated though.

However, what made me suspect it is viral is the fact that some guest-book posters claim they heard from that site via radio or blogs just a few days after it went online. Usually, that's not the case with such phenomenons. A site like that would have to have been a few months up for people to notice it... Confused

Ah, I see. Though, I guess people haven't come up with what this is or made further research... Hope it turns out to be viral marketing for something, the idea is great and making it just another useless "net-experiment" would be boring...
