It seems one of the Evelynoffscreen Community members wants to contact Jett: Laughing

she may not be alive alive not in the sense that we are alive but im not sure i think she is still around either alive or as energy or as a ghost or spirt

i think the research she was doing on the jellyfish and on eliz bathory shows she was working on a way to become or stay young and or to become immortal
this info comes straight from her own blog

i think her reaaction to the murder is odd
and i would like to find this jett person who posted on her blog that the have answers
also i was emailed from someone on this site about just before her so called death they had been working on a magic that would steal the beauty from pictures and movies of her own youth
and she was trying it with her old films they emailed stated that they thought maybe someone killed her to shut her up but i dont believe this at least not yet

these are my reasons so far and it comes down to gut feelings also ive learned to go with it esp with these matters in the supernatural

so i need to find more info and need more people to talk to need to find out more its got to be out there some where

what do you think?

I'm Quentin Hardy. You are a playwright. For the past 7 years, you have been trying to turn the movie "Orpheus and Eurydice" into a stage musical. So far, Silver Crypt has been unwilling to relinquish the musical rights to this film.

character: Leticia Huff
Category: Fans
description:You had your first date at a drive–in movie, watching an Evelyn Crane flick. Your date that night is long gone, but your fascination with Evelyn remains.

I can't be too active in this game due to RL but don't wanna miss out on it either, so I chose a character with a less complex backhistory than others. Plus, isn't Leticia just a great name?

OK I'm in. Apparently I'm turning into a person who was quite obsessed with our Evelyn. I built my life around her, which is a bit weird. I've just asked for stories from people who have met her, since I apparently just missed out on meeting her myself. If you are a member of her fan group, please feel free to describe your meeting with her!

How do I get sucked into these things?

I'm Anderson Gould.

Your uncle manned the ticket booth at the Palace Theater in the 1970s. He often spoke in hushed tones about the things that he saw late at night. After he was committed to a mental institution, you began to wonder if his nightmares might have been real.

This is almost sounding like a Cthulhu game. Very Happy

Okey-dokey! Logan emailed 'Jett' with th following message:

Quote:
ah thx you so much and thx for the add im glad i found you finally
my name is jim logan
im a paranormal investigator im researching evelyn crans's death
on her blog she posted

Throughout history, many men and women have sought eternal youth. The Babylonians, the Egyptians, the Greeks, the Romans, even our own Western traditions, it is one of the constants in all of our history Countess Elizabeth Bathory, of Hungarian legend, comes to my mind first. A truly exemplary woman, who took her own fate into her hands. She failed because she didn't test her methods. She believed bathing in the blood of a virgin woman would keep her eternally young.

She lacked a control test. There are several easy experiments one could have set up, and with modern methods and thinking, I have no doubt she'd have been tireless in her research to find a way.

Sadly, Barthory lived in an era before blood types were known. The frequent total transfusions that would have been required to affect a significant change would surely have killed her, and would have merely prolonged her youth by a few decades at most. But there are other methods. - Jett

im wonder if you could answer these questions for me
can you tell me abit about yourself?
how did you know evelyn and for how long?
what do you know about evelyn research her connection to bathory and her reseach on staying young or immortal?
what are these other methods you speak of?
did she contact you after your post?
and also do you know anything about mt.shasta?
i look forward to hearing from you and thx you for allowing me to ask you these questions
live love be believe

I've emailed this Logan and told him that "Tom Goldman" (my in-game persona, a one-time producer with Silver Crypt) made the postings from Jett in an attempt to find out more about what Evelyn was doing. Specifically, I said:

Quote:
Well, as you may have guessed by now, Jett Black is a pseudonym I used trying to get a little more information from Evelyn herself. I had heard rumors that her, ah, obsession had grown in the last few months and was afraid that she was going to get taken by some nutcase shaman or other con artist.

Sadly, I really don't know as much as I alluded to in "Jett's" posts to Evelyn - I was really just trying to find out what she was up to. Regardless of her attitude towards me, I have always considered her to be my friend.

The bit about Barthory and the blood? I'll confess that I stole it from the Lazarus Long stories by Robert Heinlein (I'm a huge fan). In those stories normal humans could greatly extend their lifespan by frequent total blood transfusions. The allusion to 'other methods' was a ploy on my part - although you can't have lived in Hollywood for as long as I have without hearing virtually every crackpot 'eternal youth' scheme there is.

For what it's worth, Evelyn was truly fascinated by Mt. Shasta, at least in the time immediately following her retirement. Although she never confided in me, I suspect that I can make a good guess about what lured Evelyn to Shasta - there are legends in California about Indians who lived on that mountain for extremely long years. Those legends inspired a number of works of fiction. If you have the time, read the short story 'Lost Legacy' by Heinlein. There is a persistent California legend that Ambrose Bierce (another of my favorite authors) discovered some sort of fountain of youth on or near Mt. Shasta, then faked his death in Mexico. I'm sure that Evelyn had heard those stories too - as obsessed as she was with youth, there is no way that she could have missed them.

I'll venture a bit further and guess that she never found what she sought and eventually became disenchanted with Shasta - after all, she did move to Florida (which, come to think of it, is the home of the other legendary fountain of youth).

I wish you good luck on your quest, but I do ask that you remain respectful of Evelyn's memory. There are those of us who do not wish to see her publicized as just another old kook. - Tom Goldman

Logan - if you're reading this, my apologies. I really did make most of this crap up - just a little fishing expidition. - Jett, dba Tom Goldman

Yes, it does. Personally, I think I'll start referring to Evelyn as "She-who-must-not-be-named-but-inevitably-is". Smile - Jett

Laughing Seriously giggled while trying to validate Chelsea's reputation and at SCS then dissing her (me) a bit.

Silver Crypt Studios wrote:
Dear Amandel,

We are very glad to hear that your search for The Dark Chapter is continuing. There might be a few stray copies floating around that we missed, but it is more likely that overzealous fans are exaggerating their collection. As far as we know, the only extant copies have all been lost. At this point we are most interested in finding the reel that was sold at the Palace, since the print should be of a higher quality than any bootleg edition.

Please let Chelsea know that she is welcome to follow up with us and we look forward to her questions. However, I must advise you not to trust her completely. The Scandal has a terrible reputation for distorting the truth and I would not trust any story to be completely factual.

Thank you again for your continuing support. We have heard that there is a memorial service for Evelyn at the end of October. It would be wonderful to find The Dark Chapter as a tribute to our dear departed friend.

Ah, this sounds like an interesting concept. I'll be playing along, though I won't reveal who I am just yet.

I'm a bit sad that I can't take place in any of the live events or receive anything in the mail because I'm from Australia and they seem to only send to America Sad

I'm playing one of the characters in this game, and I have a question. I'm new to ARG/RPG, but things seem to have gotten a little boring with this game. Are there typically more things happening in one of these things, or is this the usual pace? I mean, I know the thing with Evelyn's will is coming up, but not too much other than that.
