Funny - calmvoice-male Smile "Ich bin traurig, Herr Post, ich kann nicht tun den." is translated "I'm sorry, Mr. Post, I cant do that." And I cant follow that link ...

I wonder if this isn't IRis being very literal? I.E., a set of 14 numbers is bound to incorporate (accidentally) *some* phone number, *some* address, *some* coordinates, etc?

Hmm. I think you're right...good catch. I'm stumped for the moment then...anyone have any brainstorms?

Great work anyway, even if the authorization code didn't pan out! Hopefully this will be helpful later (or sooner!).

As a side note, I asked IRis a day or two ago if we were looking for a phone number and she returned "false"...

Thanks!! And any chance you would want to post the exact wording of the question you asked?

great work alex!

just wanted to mention that "checksum" does not neccesarily mean the sum of the 14 digits

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Checksum

A checksum can use any number of functions: one common way is to take each digit and multiply by a prime and then add a prime. The idea is to obfuscate the original data, so by definition it should be useless to us. Unless of course they don't use very good checksums in 20XX......

I do agree that the hotel must be important, although it may not end up being the answer to this exact puzzle... I keep wondering if we need to get more out of the evidence but I just never seem to have time to sit down and really work on it.

I meant with "checksum" the addition of every single digit Wink

Yeah that's what I assumed, but who knows how IRis interpreted it...

New entry in blog ..

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Waiting To Die

If you are reading this then I am still dead from an overdose.

I still have faith in you though, future hero. Of course, faith is all I have left at this point which is probably why I am in this predicament.

I never thought that anything would come close to the pain of watching Liz deteriorate and die but seeing Shanna fade away was much, much worse. Indescribably worse.

Please help us.

Of course, sorry - I posted the response, but left out my query, which was formatted like this:

Quote:
QUERY

AUTHORIZATION = "Telephone Number";

btw, my favorite part of this so far is making up my own computer language, lol...

Anyway, here's the response again:

ETA: I think IRis just told me she's not going to accept any more of my questions, lol Smile

Damn, this code turned out being quite hard, eh? How annoying. I'll sit down and ponder a bit on it later today, try do my share of this game.

Wulf,

This is truly fascinating and despite the constant phone calls from my partner, I am personally inclined to work with you. Here is the situation that I believe is occurring; you are somehow establishing contact with what I term to be a bio-intellect system. It's not AI because although theoretically interesting, technology-based systems will never become truly conscious or self aware. It's a barrier breach that can be simulated to a very high degree but not actually accomplished. A true letdown for geekdom, no? However this is where it gets more exciting. I have created a fluid memory system roughly the size of a toaster-oven, containing predominantly a high-density saline solution, and as of 0837 on Tuesday, Septmber 15, successfully downloaded the entire internet. Now the issue that I am struggling with is the processing of that overwhelming data. Ultimately what good does it do to have all of man's knowledge in a toaster if you can't make it accessible? This has been the theoretical - and now actual - conundrum of my project. In anticipation of this, my collaborators and I have been making great progress with biological processors and have discovered that the only systems seemingly capable of the high-level, functional processing of such data is the central nervous systems unique to homo sapiens. Humans. Your sample e-mails from this "Ipswich Rogers Intellect System" - with both the pet names and familiar songs - is starting to make me think that at some point I am going to succeed (have succeeded?) with my current project path. This makes me VERY excited and hopeful. As for the recognition of PERL you ask about, I wouldn't read too much into that. If my theories hold true, a bioprocessor will run predominantly on abstract thought and plaintext, scanning data for comprehensible inputs rather than following certain flavors of code. Although, if all knowledge is available to the unit she would fully comprehend all code anyway. I don't know, it would depend on how this system - assumptively polished at some future date - was directed. If it could be directed. Isn't that a bizarre thought? The types of biosystems that fascinate me and that I work to develop would have relational interfaces wouldn't they? Gone would be the days of MAC OS X and instead, greetings IRis "Janet"! Please send me more!

So IRIs is the same thing as Craigs 'toaster'. Craig can't analyse the data inside toaster cause of the ammount of data is so overwhelming (well, considering internet is pretty big place...). What about the map we gotted in the first page, it's map of internet. Has Craig seen it?

Then about this newest message from IRIs to Staeld, what do we know about Nikolai Verve?

EDIT:
New old pic, 'sundensation.jpg' the green wall/glass where is water, or something familiar to that. I don't reconize the new song.

EDIT2:
Noticed changes in source code, the green 121? (apparently it meaned 121°) is gone.

I'm guessing through Iris. And the code we've been given there, including the dashes, happens to be 14 characters long. If I knew the correct syntax for contacting Iris i'd do it myself. Someone's gonna have to get a guide up here Razz

Janet was just Craig's example of a "living" OS or "relational interface" title. Mac OS X, Windows Vista or IRis Janet.

The syntax doesn't really seem to matter all that much, plain English seems to work, as long as its precise and logical.

Still, I sent it off, we'll see what happens.
