Ooh!

Was bumming around on Facebook and found this:

http://www.facebook.com/search/?q=The+Sect&init=quick#/pages/The-Sect/172701459044

Looks like they're getting ready to reach out to their believers.

Ah, Cog! A fellow GMT sufferer lol

Yeah, I sent off a little email, thought there might be an automated response? But nothing so far.
If it's a real person answering mail to that address, they're probably asleep! But I'll keep people notified C:

Don't feel bad, guys....I'm right here in the US, but am an early to bed, early to rise kind of girl that gets to work at 6 am. So I miss out on all the most exciting stuff, too. Looks like a lot was accomplished last night!

ARG Case Study

Sorry to break the conversation about cracking the game, but I wanted to make everyone aware of a study I'm doing on The Sect Is Here.

I am a graduate researcher at the University of Texas-Austin's Digital Writing and Research Lab (www.cwrl.utexas.edu), and I am interested in ARGs and their power to create collective intelligence to solve complex problems. Since this is a public forum, I'll be using the posts as data for this study. All of your screen names will be further anonymized to protect your confidentiality.

If, however, you'd prefer to not have your posts used as data in this study, you can email me at scottnelsonSPLATmail.utexas.edu to opt out.

I was hoping to get some of you to keep a game journal about your connections made throughout the game and to take a brief questionnaire and survey at the end (if there is one). If you're interested in participating in this manner. please email me at the above address.

Thanks for your time, and sorry for intruding on the game world.

Scott

RE: DRAWL

I don't know--seems kinda fake to me. And I'd rather not have someone lurking around who's not in-game. It's too freaky. Not to be rude, but isn't there another ARG you can stalk? Confused I'd much rather have the Sect lurking. That's exciting.

But that's just me. On to other things, Louis, you have NO idea how tempted I am to post in your Sect Loyalty thread, "The Sect can eat my shorts!" Would make me feel a part of the game a little more. Thoughts?

Well, Kiri, you might want to make a redshirt account and then see what happens. Wink

Hmm. I haven't seen any indication of a conversation with Seigfried. Has anyone else had better luck than me?

No word

I messaged the Facebook account five minutes ago, thinking maybe he was available for communication even if he doesn't initiate. No response yet.

EDIT: Also, I've been lurking and solving, but have been behind. Caught up for now. Nice to meet you all.

You'd be better off posting this in the META forum there's already someone there with an ARG questionnaire from Leeds University doing an ARG research paper. Personally I don't care but I'd post your questions there for better results.

Nothing. Sad But I was thinking: PST is Pacific Standard Time (GMT -Cool, and the Pacific US states are currently in PDT, Pacific Daylight Time, which is GMT -7. So 11 AM PST is techinically another hour away... The Riese forums are timed based on GMT -8 (the "current" time appears at the bottom of every page), so it would make sense that we have another 45 minutes to wait.

Edit: that should say GMT minus 8. The forum automatically made the 8 and ) into Cool
