that's huge (and confusing). Big thing I noticed, from the log file (http://www.theaquapolis.com/incidentlogs/20031008/20031008.log ) was this:
Quote:
07:29:05-send/bulkheadclose/beta/delos/7
...
07:29:06-rec/bulkheaderror/beta/delos/7
the error was finally resolved, but not via the security system:
Quote:
07:29:49-rec/manualoverride/beta/delos/7

'Delos' was the section that had the error and had the manual override.
if you check the blueprints you can see that section's box is grey.(section 3)
checked a greek lexicon:
Delos:
clear, evident, manifest
Delos=another password?

System failed? So is this going against what the news on both the Aquapolis and Metacortex sites reported? That their 'Safesys' system automatically sealed the breach? The logs seem to indicate that it tried but kept getting an error until a manual override was performed.

Just to put it in conext, here's what jumps out at me from the jpegs, along with the times that they were taken (actually, times just increase with depth). In the listing below, Delos is grey, as are all bulkheads, unless otherwise noted:
S-Surface 7:29:11
1 - Amargos 7:29:16
2-Andros name in RED
3-Delos status YELLOW
2 - Andros 7:29:21
3 - Delos 7:29:27
4 - Ios 7:29:31
5 - Kithnos 7:29:36
6 - Milos 7:29:42
7 - Paros 7:29:46
8 - Serifos 7:29:51
9 - Syros 7:29:55
10 - Tinos 7:30:00
3-Delos status YELLOW
inner bullkhead of two (btw Sub Pen and Delta module) RED
now we just need some good ol' down home Greek translation, so as we can know what th' colors mean

actually, i think i know what a status of yellow means - it appears to happen when a request has gone out to the level, but a response has not yet been recieved. All the times the delos level is yellow are between a send and receive in the log. The only thing I can't figure is why the delos level is yellow at 7:30:00 but is grey at 7:29:51 and 7:29:55
07:29:43-send/bulkheadclose/beta/delos/7
status yellow at 7:29:46 (7-Paros)
07:29:49-rec/manualoverride/beta/delos/7
status grey at 7:29:51 (8-Serifos)
status grey at 7:29:55 (9-Syros)
status yellow at 7:30:00 (10-Tinos)
07:30:32-rec/bulkheadclosed/beta/delos/7
It just doesn't seem to fit. It should be yellow for both of those, unless I don't understand the color coding correctly or a request has been removed from the log.

as seen in chat.. (MST)
16:03 <catherwood> just assume green=good and yellow=not so good for now
16:17 <catherwood> yellow = caution (this greek typing is tedious, but i'm using an online dictionary)
16:36 <catherwood> heh, the blue status word means "flood"
16:39 <catherwood> yep, green means normal
:)

I just got off the phone with my Greek friend; this is what he told me:
"green box" = normal
"yellow box" = warning
"red box" = fire
"blue box" = flood
"grey box" = input/from/from the line/signal/on course
Diafragmata = opening
"grey line" = open
"red line" = closed
He also gave me a lot of other, probably irrelevant info, but I'll just put it out here anyway.
The names of the levels (except Portico) are these Greek islands just south of Athens. The name of this group of islands is Cyclades. However, not all levels belong in this group, and some are missing from it, and it's out of sequence. Here is how Cyclades should be:
Andros
Tinos
Mykonos
Delos
Paros
Naxos
Ios
Santorini
I asked him if there was anything special about Delos. His response was "yes, of course." Nobody lives on Delos anymore; there are only ruins there now. It used to be sort of a treasurey dept of the city-state of Athens before the Peloponnesian war. There was a temple there, and the priests guarded the gold.
Last thing he said is that the word choice suggests that the words were chosen by a non-native speaker (he had particular problems with word choices for "online" and "normal").
