Normally, I sleep in normal clothes when I know I'm going to be up later and moving about. Perhaps Alex did not change into sleeping clothes because he realizes that if he is woken up by something, he will probably be either chasing after it or running away from it, which would be better in normal clothes rather than sleeping clothes.

 		Yeah, he's right. We really can't go around taking in every detail about what they do, just ones that will give us definite answers. We can't pay attention to his toiletries if Slender Man pops up in his bathroom, we should instead focus on Slender Man.

 		are we even aware he is sleeping?
maybe he was lying, waiting, and when SM actually appeared, he was scared stiff?
if it were the case, he could've been aware he was bleeding the whole time.
maybe he might've even been trying to lure SM into the cameras view to proove he exists

all just ideas

The theory that he was using the camera to prove the existence of Slenderman has been discussed a lot, however:

Why would he not then use the proof?

Why want to destroy the tapes?

To me it just doesn't fit.

Why want to destroy the tapes?

Maybe, just maybe, if someone has the knowledge of SM he has the knowledge that, err, they know. What if someone had passed on the knowledge of SM to Alex and now SM is getting to him?

Maybe Alex didn't want to show anyone to stop SM massacre. It's quite a smart way of gaining victims if you ask me, I'd (and I wouldn't be surprised if most of you) would almost instinctively tell someone. Sounds much easier for your victims to find more victims for you then too go and hunt yourself. If this is true, (which I HIGHLY DOUBT) J is in trouble.


Oh jesus, I just scared myself shitless. We'd all be in trouble too, everyone in this section would. Lol.

maybe he wanted to proove the existance of SM, as nobody would believe than a thin, abnormally tall man was stalking him.
however, maybe he noticed that the tapes were taking a toll on his health, and locked them up and didn't show anyone so they wouldn't effect his or anyone else's health.
this fits the theory that J also felt the effects of the tape on his health as he was looking through them.

Alex could've also come to the theory that anyone who is aware of SM, SM will come for.
this could've also been a reason why he hid the tapes for so long and didn't show anyone

 		This is kinda late, but I just noticed this. Right after Slender Man walks off camera, you can see him pull back his arm, as if to hit something. From my perspective, it looks like Slender Man did indeed hit Alex.

 		Huh. I noticed that too. You see what looks like his elbow cocking out, and the motion seems like a downward swing to me.

That changes things a bit, but still doesn't give us any really concrete answers.
