Act III: Remembering Eva AKA the SF Savants Where has this mysterious woman ran off to? It's time to find out. Please note that this Act is currently in process, thread will be updated when needed
On Sunday October 16, 1988 a young woman by the name of Eva mysteriously went missing. She has not been seen ever since. Till this day, people are still trying to solve this mystery. Some believe she was obducted, other still believe something more mystical happened that day.
Who was Eva? A rebellious teenager or a spiritual guru? One man by the name of Kelvin Williams has made it his mission to find out the truth to what happened that faithful day.
In order to help him in the journey, a reconstruction of that day has been posted to the internet . Can we help Kelvin solve the case? Or is Eva lost in the shadows of history?
Only time will tell.
In this act, we are asked to follow the steps Eva and the Savants took that night, and while we are at it study and research Eva's journal which can be found at the Pelinger Library . This Notebook tells the story of Eva in her own words. A must read.
Post any questions, comments, concerns about Act III in this thread.

the book seems to be a reproduction of the journal in the prelinger archives.
meta time!:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
ok it seems like this is a kind of fundraiser item for the PM's. a way to have the journal without having to photograph every page or go to the prelinger library personally. an interesting idea and useful if there's a need to actually bring the book with you somewhere to solve a puzzle but NOT fitting with what kelvin talked about in his blog. it strikes as hypocritical of him to slap us on the wrist for freely showing pages of what he called a very intimate journal and then turning around and selling copies of it for $25 a pop... but then again the whole thing is also available free on the rememberingeva website... so i'm not sure what to make of this, really. :/

New post from Kelvin (http://rememberingeva.wordpress.com/2009/10/20/not-so-slowly-unravelling/).
Our fears have materialized... Kelvin has found the Jejune Institute and is already planning on visiting. This cannot be good for the overall cause. The JI now potentially has a goon who is close to Eva and the Savants. In the end, he could really take everything down from the inside. His meetings with Beth will be given directly to the Institute, and the whole reconstruction will be too.
Octavio has probably been trying to find information for a while. Now he has it right in his hand.
This is going to get very bad, AND very interesting very fast.

well it could go either way. he could be inducted and NOT follow the initiation card and become a goon or he could follow it and find out the truth about Octavio and be on the side of the EPWA or at least Nonchalance. this doesn't have to be bad. Let's hope he follow the glyphs...

It seems the EPWA has kidnapped Kelvin:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1vfkbCBO-Q&feature=player_embedded
This video was posted on his website. Either Kelvin was released, or the EPWA hacked into his account... I'm guessing the latter.
What does this all mean?
Are our worries that the EPWA might be not as "righteous" coming true? Will they see that this is just one big misunderstanding? Where do we come into play? I mean, we all have been following ever word the EPWA has given us. In all honesty, we were "brainwashed" into thinking their word is true.
wow...

It's not brainwashing because you have never given up your own agency as to what you would do in any situation. Given the choices of the Jejune Institute and the EPWA, knowing everything you know up until now, which would you have chosen? The third option to just walk away has always existed. The fact that you're questioning the EPWA now suggests you haven't been brainwashed.
Besides, C14 always said this is war. Did you think he meant a Shel Silverstein-style hugging war?
That's what I'm gonna do, I'ma find Octavio and hug him. HUG HIM TO SMITHEREENS.

The willful suspension of disbelief inna house! "SOON OBSOLETE -- ALL FENCES, WALLS, AND OTHER IMPEDIMENTS" is crackers. That I have accepted this as gospel within this construct means that my character is also crackers. Though it seems, given the message of the wise horse, that we are supposed to take action and resolve this horrible turn of events ... it remains to be seen if I, you, "we" have any influence on the plot line at all. Some options.
1) Abandon EPWA.
2) Kick Drybones / C14 out of EPWA.
3) Sit tight, wait for more info. Meet up on Saturday going "what? what?"
Joining up with the Jejune Institute seems wrong, given the information we glommed from several Omni articles etc.
