The first 2 (or 3) were a rotating ROT cipher. San Diego, DC, and Atlanta were Hex->ASCII conversions. This one is completely different...

 		All I can see at this point is that the numbers are grouped in fours. Thus, each number can't be its own letter because then the message would have to only contain four-letter words.

 		Current idea is that it's a book cypher (paragraph - line - word - letter) with Jackson Curtis' Farewell Atlantis PDF as the key...

 		A few things about the drop items...
My friend and I went to the SF location. We got there at around 1:30 and each grabbed a package. We were lucky enough to get phones in ours. We came back later, at around 2:45 just to check if the guy was still there, and he still had 5 packages left. I guess not a lot of people showed up. (No, no we didn't get extras.)

We noticed that there were 4-digit numbers written in what looks like sharpie on each of our envelopes. Did anyone else notice this? What could they be? Our theories were that they may be a pin for the voicemail, or possibly the last 4 digits of the phone number. We haven't yet worked out how to get the phone number though. They don't seem to be related to each other at all.

Also, it seems odd that the phones come with an integrated flashlight. We've never seen any other phones like that. This is likely mere luck, as it's cheap phone, but possibly they intend for us to use them later somehow? (Utterly wild hope for another live event.)

It just seems to be a standard prepaid T-Mobile phone. We took apart the phone (literally), and couldn't find anything else.

Someone else has already posted the blueprints and code on the movievirals site, so I figure we don't need to repeat that.

oh yeah that's a good point. My contact with the 2012 campaign said that first chapter would be important to figuring out something in the viral.

This is what she said exactly (on 10/15):

The 4 digits are the last 4 of the phone's number. I had the same thing on mine.

To get your full number, call a phone you have that has caller-ID, but don't answer. Hang up the new phone once you have the number.

I was there closer to 1:05pm -- and a woman was leaving the place having also just picked up a package. I didn't recognize her (and she didn't appear to recognize me), but she left too quickly for me to even think to introduce myself or ask for her affiliation. Maybe this was more widespread than I thought :D

While I might usually complain (i can't help it!) about taking a 3-hour "lunch" break from work to retrieve redundant info, I'll admit that it's cool having the phone to stare at. Even better is the enclosed card from Aerospace Robotics Corporation, telling me about how I'm holding company property now. (Has that been scanned for others to see?)

I'll be tackling the code later. My tech buddy tells me that one of the .jpgs on the memory stick was corrupted -- did anyone else find that to be the case?

And one thing jumped out at me on the blueprints which might not easily be readable on the posted images: "support as req'd to be actor/stunt safe" -- I don't know whether to take that as an oversight by the marketing team or a deliberate clue to ARC's intentions. Are these real blueprints from the (meta) movie set, or blueprints for (ingame) a fake ark, or should I pretend I didn't see that bit at all? Is there a conspiracy to build a working ark for a select few, or a fake ark to distract the masses while the survivors head for the secret bunker?

That would be an interesting take on it... fake it like the Moon landings?

My old Nokia phone had that. Damn convenient, if you ask me; I miss that feature on my current phone above all else.

So your first question brings up another question in my opinion, Will The IHC be involved in the movie storyline at all or will it be absent (see tagruato in cloverfield). If the movie storyline will actually involve John Cusack's character trying to get to an ark like this than I wouldn't doubt in the least if those blueprints are the actual blueprints for movie sets (which would be a pretty cool prize for the arg-ers imo). However if The IHC and ARC are not going to be involved at all and the movie will just more focus on the main characters trying to survive "on their own" then i would guess that they blue prints are strictly ingame.

As for whether the arks are meant to actually save people or just distract people, if they were meant to be distractions to draw people away from the real safe places I can't imagine that they would be this secretive about them. I think that if the arks were a decoy, they would be getting the word out to the general public, not keeping them secret using "eyes only" communications. Also from the message in the Atlanta drop where they were talking about the rich people wanting better amenities for their money, I have to think that these are real, otherwise the communication would have just said something to the extent of "the richies are wanting more stuff for their tickets, tell them whatever they want to hear. They will be dead before they realize that their money funded our safety only."

I imagine that we will know better when this newest message gets decoded. I would try it but for some reason my computer has a heart attack anytime i try to download and look at the first chapter.

I'll be tackling the code later. My tech buddy tells me that one of the .jpgs on the memory stick was corrupted -- did anyone else find that to be the case?

And one thing jumped out at me on the blueprints which might not easily be readable on the posted images: "support as req'd to be actor/stunt safe" -- I don't know whether to take that as an oversight by the marketing team or a deliberate clue to ARC's intentions. Are these real blueprints from the (meta) movie set, or blueprints for (ingame) a fake ark, or should I pretend I didn't see that bit at all? Is there a conspiracy to build a working ark for a select few, or a fake ark to distract the masses while the survivors head for the secret bunker?


Considering that at least part of what we have received in the way of the blueprints appear in the trailers (such as the loading ramp/door), it's likely that they are the real plans used to construct the sets, and were passed on in order to reduce redundancy for the game. I originally thought that they might be part of the "conspiracy" (as posted a few pages back), but now it seems to be a mistake that's OOG.

Can you scan and upload the card that came with the phone? My package didn't include one. Thanks!

We have encountered some significant challenges regarding site location, and we are bringing our allies to table to negotiate on our behalf. We are examining a number of fallback options, but do not believe this will present a serious impediment to our schedule.
