Here is our solution to the Kings problem :
.
.
.

We still have to choose the king with the most useful attributes for our quest.

Nice work...

I think Olmec would be a good choice, sneaking and focus could be good attributes to help get through a Labyrinth..

Actually it was posted on the site - "we learn more by the others mistakes" was there way of saying that the PM posted it on the site by accident I guess, and then it was taken down pretty much straight away..

In my personal opinion, though there seems to be a general consensus on IRC, it comes down to Olmec or Moche.

Moche has Survival and Unwavering Devotion tempered by Arrogance.

Olmec has the ability to Sneak, and Focus, but is Greedy.

Both are deadly sins, and in the end it comes down to which is deadlier, and which is more tempered by the attributes.

Moche's survival could prevent his Arrogance from walking him into a deadly trap or situation. And his devotion and arrogance combined can make him tough in the face of great odds.

Similarily, Olmec's Focus can cancel out the worst of his greed. And his ability to sneak is great when being pursued (as we/the character are).

However, as Shiftee pointed out in IRC, you can only sneak for so long before you get in a fight, in which case you need survivability, devotion, and even a dash of arrogance (confidence) to win.

While it's not an easy choice. Right now personally I think I'm leaning towards Moche, but I'm still undecided.

As for Indus, the other popular choice elsewhere... personally, I think doubt is a crippling and fatal flaw in a situation like this, and patience doesn't really do a whole lot to temper that. So, while he might seem like an obvious answer, I wouldn't recommend it.

Anyways, that's my two cents. Thoughts?

EDIT: (For the record, I think we should come to a consensus and try and vote as a block. I'm liking Moche, but I'll vote Olmec if it's necessary to beat out Indus, who apparently is the leader at the JV.com forum.)

Orkais from jeuvideo.com and forumactif.com will come here with the final results from the french side in about 3:30 hours.
We'll then count the total with the 4chan and unFiction votes for each king and chose the one with the more voices.
We'll finally make a final notice for PM to let him know who we chose and who we think has the powers we had to find for unlocking the secrets.

Well, as long as we're talking about our votes, I'll go ahead and say that my vote is for Olmec. Let it be known that my vote can be changed if it's a matter of beating Indus.

It was easy at first to decide, as it was a matter of ruling out the absolutely ridiculous possibilities.

The worst? Persia. Persia is the worst choice if for no other reason than the blinding haste, and I don't think I need to detail why. While his determination is favorable, two other Kings also carry a similar trait, and envy will get us nowhere.

The second worse is Minoa. Justice? All fine and good except for the fact that we're trying to break out of a labyrinth. While strength might be useful, I doubt the PM would be willing to just let the ARG die along with the character. So in that sense, it's useless, and anger, like with Persia's envy, isn't going to help us.

The third worst is Indus. He sounds cool at first until you think about it. Patience? Sure, except for the part where most of us whine when there aren't any clues. We're not a very patient bunch, and it's not going to help the person in the lab very much, either. Doubt isn't good, considering that we all argue amongst each other over very simple decisions like whether to go east or west. Not to mention, doubt might enable the PM to override our decisions.

Now, the selling point on why we shouldn't vote for Indus is Night Vision. NIGHT VISION. WE CAN SEE IN THE DARK. Yes, yes we can, but at least twice now PM has followed a mysterious light source, and there is supposedly light beyond the door we stand in front of now. What if this light or any future lights are permanent? Or at least more so than what we've encountered thus far? That would be a wasted decision on something that sounds cool, but is not very practical in this unknown environment. Not to mention, for anything too dark PM only has to rely on those of us with photoshop.

Moche is the second best choice. Instead of giving a paragraph for him, I'm going to compare him to Olmec, because there are very, very similar. But there is one point that pushes me toward Olmec definitely.

Sneaking is great, on Olmec's side. So is the penchance for survival. However, they both serve some of the same function. Sneaking will keep us out of bad situations, while survival will get us out of them. In my opinion, the devotion of Moche and the focus of Olmec even out pretty symmetrically. They will both be very dedicated to getting out of the labyrinth, but maybe Olmec's focus will enable him to see more? At the same time, if it's a single minded focus it renders him as blind to irrelevance as Moche's devotion.

Last but not least, the two deadly sins. Greed versus Pride. Probably not a pretty battle, but there is one thing I would like to bring up. Pride, arrogance. If we choose Moche, PM might think himself better than what he is, he might not know when to stop, and that could endanger us. On paths and routes where we, the players of the ARG, have no say, he might make a bad choice and get harmed or miss something he wouldn't have, if he didn't think he could take whatever was down that path.

I side with Greed. If you haven't noticed, we now have a kind of inventory on the bottom of the screen of the IBF website. This means we can gather and collect. If PM is greedy, he might look for more objects to pick up, and while we may not charge into battle as quickly as if we were arrogant, we might find better weapons or tools, or simply more things to help with puzzles. He will scavenge more. While he might take something from the wrong spot, we'll probably be better equipped to handlet he situation that would arise from that trouble.

Anyway, this is why I choose Olmec, or ultimately why I choose Greed. As I said before that is the main difference between Olmec and Moche, and the one selling point to where people should choose a side. My $00.02

This isn't morse or braille buddy, it's the dots that must fit in the wheel of letters.
So you get a series of letters that must make up something.

(sorry if I'm stating the obvious, I am way behind.)

Hi ! I am the representative from JVC forum.

In this website ( http://wearefollowingyou.forum actif.com/forum.htm)
we have in the english part :
2 people voting for Minoan
4 for Olmec
1 for Indus
Nobody for the 2 others

In the French part :
4 people for Olmec
2 for Minoan
Nobody for the 3 others

Then, on JVC itself :
Olmec : 14
Moche : 0
Minoan : 7
Persian : 2
Indus : 18

So, we have a majority of Indus in JVC, but as we also count wearefollowingyou, so Olmec wins

So, we vote for Olmec

MESSAGE TO PM !
Our results from the Kings challenge

Hello PM !

First, here is what we found from the riddle you gave us.

Steps of how we found this are here :
http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/1121/kings1.png
http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/7078/kings2.png
http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/1039/kings3.png
http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/4642/kings4.png
http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/7751/kings5.png
http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/1413/kings6.png

So, we conclude that the Olmec King is the one who can sneak, and the Indus King is the most Patient.
Hoping we have this right and the Kings will reveal us their hidden secrets.

Next, the votes to know which mask we want to pick.
Thanks Orkais for gathering the votes from France.

Here are the results of the vote from /x/ and unFiction people :
Moche : 2 (Frontspac, Shiftee)
Olmec : 8 (ChagrinnedGoat, PCTexRipley, BobbyKennedy, mEP, Greg, pinchmonster, zu, melka)

Adding this to the results from the French people, we have a total of :
Olmec : 4 + 4 + 14 + 8 = 30
Moche : 0 + 0 + 0 + 2 = 2
Minoan : 2 + 2 + 7 + 0 = 11
Persian : 0 + 0 + 2 + 0 = 2
Indus : 1 + 0 + 18 + 0 = 19

So, by popular demand, we want to pick King Olmec's mask !

Those are the final results.

Go PM, pick it up !

And good luck, friend !

The website is updating. The fifth mask, Olmec's, is in our inventory.

Quote:
I pull the mask from the stone wall...but nothing happens
then i hear a soft click...and silence

Also, upon highlighting we are told to "Find one.txt"

EDIT: Also, code on all the masks upon clicking. I think that means we answered his questions right!

EDIT: The morse code on the fourth mask says:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Inside the Indus King you may find the second of six.

EDIT3: The wheel puzzle seems to say IWEK. Internalshoestore translated this in the IRC, with Tsabo correcting us on a letter

EDIT4: mEP in the IRC has said that the random characters in the first puzzle make 0198 0181 0197 0191 0197 0181

With alernate.txt , ¿ (0191) = v

Morse king said with Indus we find the second of six

So we will know the µ( the second letter, and the five! )
And we will find the word.

The Ancient Kings do not speak freely. In order for them to reveal the secrets hidden within, simply give them the word.

The Olmec King will reveal his secrets in time.
