Strange Password on Derren Brown Channel 4 site

So was on the Derren Brown channel 4 site and was looking at the info for tonight's show, looking at the various bits of info gathered based on cheating a casino. I clicked on the Tricks and Treats section to find a roulette wheel, which when spun lands on a year and presents a factoid around the theme of cheating a casino.

I clicked on one of the factoids (for the decade 1860s) and was brought to a page asking for a username and password. There seems to be a clue given which is "magic be here..."

Don't know if this is actually something or just a part of the site locked until after the show but if anyone has an idea what the username and password might be if it is meant to be unlocked then it'd be kewl to see what it is.

So anyone got a clue?

EDIT: Sorry, completely forgot the link:

http://derrenbrown.channel4.com/derren-brown-trick-treats-casino.shtml

That's the mini roulette game, just spin it and click on Next until you get to 1860s then click the fact

It works on a few other factoids but it seems to be inconsistent, still unsure where to strt in terms of a username and password if it's possible to give one.

How exciting!

The slots that require Passwords are:

1897
1954
1995
1998
1860's

"Magic be here..." Hmm.

Thanks for counting em, I was too lazy, lol.

I'm not sure what the clue means, is it a location? Maybe a phrase we need to complete? I did a Google search but with so little to go on it of course came up with millions of unrelated websites with those serch terms.

S'alright. All I did was Click...no. Click...no. Click...yay! Click...no. Etc.

I've been through Scholar, News etc. Nothing comes up.

the names of the ppl on the wheel slots that are links to the password site are all on this page here about scammers

http://derrenbrown.channel4.com/derren-brown-scammers.shtml

does that get us any closer to what the username and password are? could be a hidden comp? derren likes those...

well none of them fit with the 'magic be here...' clue really. maybe Mumbles coz he used slight of hand to pull of his scam but that still leaves us with no password.

I tried mumbles and wheels and got nothing. Derren's blog mentions a competition starting when 'the rabbit' is revealed. tried that with derrens name, nada.

Other clues

Hi all,

Bother, I meant to reply to the thread but accidentally made a new post. I'll repost here and try to delete my first erroneous post:

--

Very good spotting with the password site - I'd put it down to a buggy webpage with stale link to a development site, if not for the "magic be here..." clue.

Have you watched his series "The Events" - it just finished airing in the UK yesterday, and it seems to be completely littered with clues, obscure references & hidden meanings. I could speculate for hours about this, but here are a few links that come to mind in light of this password, I could be completely off the mark here, I don't know.

1. In episode 4 of the events, How to Be a Psychic Spy, he does a trick with a lightbulb that spontanously flickers on, and then implodes while sitting inside a plastic bag. His dialog while performing - "...if you're brave enough, maybe you can just let it go" (then the bulb breaks) " ... with a big bang. Alakazam." I have just learnt that this exact trick can actually be bought from a web magic shop called "Alakazam" and the effect is titled "Big Bang" - there be magic?
http://www.alakazam.co.uk/magic-shop/81-taylor-imagineering/11115-the-big-bang.html?keyword=lightbulb

2. Keep an eye on his twitter stream, he seems to be leaking clues here:
http://twitter.com/derrenbrown

3. He did a blog post a little while back about a UK theatre group called Punchdrunk that does ARG-like experiences, encouraging Boston residents to see their latest show:
http://derrenbrown.co.uk/blog/2009/09/boston/

4. Earlier episodes of the events seemed to have a lot of references to mice incorporated into the show, as well as later twitter posts about mice, cheese, and this recent one where he says he has bought a piece of art that happens to be a montage of two people with mouse-heads.
