@Juiceboxvomit, water under the bridge!

I though the comment from the levitating thing was in reference to the lady in "N" as airportdisco stated. The other watcher/former ally makes sense too though.
It would be quite against the rules of the forum as I understand them for Hs to be using a planted player. Not to say it isn't possible but I think PM's are supposed to stay out of the thread of their ongoing games altogether. The other possibility of someone playing Hs but choosing to not participate in the thread is more likely imo.

In other avenues, I was going over the pages that are capitalized on the index and went to Sleepwalk and Hair first and Breathing last and the breathing image is mostly grey like it didn't finish loading. Also, the jpg file isn't capitalized like the other two. Am I the only one seeing this?

Wait, do you mean that Breathing seems to get stuck after the first line? If that's the case, it does that for me, too. I was wondering if there was something wrong with my Internet.
On a lighter albeit eerie note, did anyone else get the feeling that Hatshoe predicted all those birds randomly dropping dead in Arkansas? Wink

Yeah, it looks like that in firefox, just cut off in the middle of the second line of text.

Can you tell me about how long ago you noticed it?

Edit: Found a slightly altered version of the page from a previous player.

In 'breathing', if you turn the brightness down to about -10 and the contrast up to about +90, there's what appears to be a nose, above the fold. Also, I may be totally out of my mind. You tell me.

@GoingUp
I noticed it around 4 days ago. At first I thought it was deliberate and got stoked. Then I saved it and opened it in photoshop and got a message saying it was corrupted/truncated.
So what probably happened is last time he updated the site, there was a problem uploading that one image.
I'm sure it'll be fixed next time he updates.

Well, shit, friends.

Look what I found in my mailbox today.

But it wasn't just the old index...

Incredible.

There's a million things to pick apart here...whether it's a self portrait...the pronounced "W" shape in the portrait...the moon...the giant structure at the end of the road...the weird rectangle in the letter...but I think the most intriguing part is that he signed it "S".

Who's thinking Sheldon?

Gah! I emailed him as soon as I got it and brought up those questions along with some goofy fanboyish thankings. He hasn't written anyone in a while, it seems, so maybe we'll hear from him soon.

WOW! haha, how many player addresses does he even have? I hope you gave it to him.

I gotta go, but the portrait is of Klaus Nomi.

Edit: Call me crazy but the little scene accompanying the letter looks like a boat on a river with a bridge on the horizon to me. And the weird rectangular thing a billboard?

Holy crap I never would have seen that. I'll read through his wiki in a while.

Good call on the billboard too...I'm almost positive that's what it is. Like a "welcome to..." billboard.

THANK YOU.

more later.

Apologies if this has been covered already, but in the page "hollywood", do you think the person he's referring to could be Samuel Goldwyn? Hatshoe wrote that page in 2010, and Goldwyn died in 1974 (36 years from then). He never really "existed" in the sense that Goldwyn wasn't his real name, it was Shmuel Gelbfisz. Saying he is in 85% of movie credits seems like a stretch, but it's definitely true that under the name MGM (Metro Goldwyn Mayer) he's in an awful lot of movie credits.

Gah...after glancing at the Nomi wiki, I realized I should have recognized it right away. My buddy is all into him...even has a huge poster of him in his living room that I've stared at a million times. This is yet another example of me trying to pick stuff apart so much that I don't see what's obviously in front of me. I feel dumb as hell. Especially since I asked if it was a self portrait. Facepalm.
EDIT:
Although there could be an upside...
since I asked him about it, maybe he'll give clues...seeing as how we already know the answer, it could be a good chance to understand how his clues work...

@Fezzik
That's the same line of thinking I was on for a while as well even though 85% seems pretty high. I just have no idea what to do with it. a guest named "This One" brought up the idea that 85% of the letters in "hollywood film credits" could spell a name as well, which is an incredibly interesting idea.

Klaus Nomi

Excerpt from http://www.zabakdaz.com/pages/myth.html:

All this activity is being monitored by a phantom Government Agency and the larger forces of Blue and Red who are after Nomi's formula for traversing Space and Time.

Traversing space and time sounds a lot like the themes that have been discussed at length in this thread. I came across the zabakdaz site just by googling "Klaus Nomi" (whom I'd never heard of before) and that site caught my eye for it's strangeness. I haven't looked into it further.

===============

And just to explain a little about me:
I've been lurking the hatshoe thing for 12 months or so (so I thought I should share if I found something useful). However I don't have the time to invest in it to be really useful. Having said that, despite knowing I've got better things to do, I always come back to checking hatshoe, the twitter feed and this forum, coupla times a week at least.

My website has nothing to do with hatshoe at all, wasn't based on it or anything, it's just an artistic project of mine (and I use the term artistic very loosely). I actually came across hatshoe 'cos I was looking up 'hand written websites' to see if there were any others like mine. I actually barely know what an ARG is, or really understand what the point is, other than mental challenges and clues and solves etc.

==================

The only other possibly useful thought I'd had at any stage whilst lurking was regarding the cats in the reply puzzle-emails from hatshoe, and their importance in ancient Egyptian society: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cats_in_ancient_Egypt

Sorry I'm not able to offer anything further, you all have my respect for your many obscure and interesting thoughts I've enjoyed reading about over the last 12 months. I'll post anything I think of, but that might not be much.

The only reason I know about Nomi is because I am a giant nerd for the Venture Bros and he was featured in an episode or two and then I heard a few of his cover songs and liked them.

I totally skipped that site yesterday when I watched a bunch of Nomi's music videos! I never new he had this whole mythos behind his persona, very interesting. There's a puzzle involved with the cd they released and the circular text on that linked page, so many bells are being rung!
I've got The Nomi Song Documentary netflixed already!

As I mentioned I watched all of his official music videos and the pose in the illustration from hatshoe shows up in Simple Man at the end and Falling In Love Again at the beginning. They both seem apropos because voyeurism is a main theme is Falling in Love Again's video and the lyrics to Simple Man are a little telling perhaps.
Of course the pose seems pretty common when you do an image search for Klau Nomi or watch his live performances so it might mean nothing.

I got a reply from hatshoe today aswell.

The similarities are eerie. I'm definitely looking into it. Good find! Thanks!

@GoingUp
"S's" response is pretty bizarre...even for him. It couldn't have had anything to do with the question you asked in your previous email, could it?

Also, about the new images in the friend gallery...they all seem to be by the same person.
What's disconcerting is that said person hasn't posted on this forum...but is obviously in at least semi-regular contact with S.
What do you think? Any way we can find him/her?

My previous email"
"Blunt question time.
How many components are there? Just how wary should I be?"

Yet another cryptic reply.

About the new fan art, the style is very "anime" which brought me back to the "found yer cat" pic he sent you back in December and the cat emails. The design of those were also kind of "anime-ish" maybe I'm just getting paranoid...

I sent hs an email asking him to send me something unique. In the image I sent I wished him happy holidays and asked if he celebrated, He sent me this in reply. no text in email.

I'll think on something to ask him tonight, as a reply.
