On the hits counter pages, if you view Google's cached version of each page, you'll see that he used to have a hits counter for those pages.

It just appears that he got rid of it.
Code:

<Start>
<script>
var sc_project=5179776;
var sc_invisible=1;
var sc_partition=55;
var sc_click_stat=1;
var sc_security="b17c4d8c";
</script>

<script></script><noscript><div><a><img class="statcounter" src="http://c.statcounter.com/5179776/0/b17c4d8c/1/" alt="hits counter"></a></div></noscript>
<End>

Hmm, so I've been lurking this for a bit and I thought this might be of minor interest to some.

When I first saw HatShoe posted on /x/ I looked at the source code of a few of the pages and saw that he was storing all of the images in a directory called "shoebox" i.e. hatshoe.org/shoebox

At the time, the only image that was not linked to on the main page was "full" but that showed up in the next batch.

I only bring this up because the next time I went to look in the directory it was gone. This also seems like a rookie mistake having a directory you want hidden right there in the source but this was before all of this heated up so I guess he is learning as he goes. The same could be said for the stat counters I'm guessing.

The morse on Reds is translated incorrectly, rather thn T S A R E it actually spells T O A R T.

Just by the by...Toart anagrams to Tarot. Haven't seen any refences to anything remotely connected but thought I'd get it out there. It could also be a toast... you know "here's to art". Very Happy

So i finally got a reply from hatshoe about the morse code...

my email
Quote:
I just noticed in the reds page you just posted that you got some of the Morse code letters wrong, was this intentional?

Your have S as --- which is really O and E and the end you have as – which is T so instead of TSARE you have toart does that mean anything?

your friend,

I was hoping I wasn't that obvious.

Being an amateur musician I noted how the rhythm of Rock Lobster's opening riff actually aligns w/ Hatshoe's Morse Code:

Tablature:
Quote:

|------------------|------------------|
|------------------|------------------|
|------------------|------------------|
|------------------|------------------|
|------------------|1-0-1-0-------0-|
|0---2---3---2-0-|------------------|

So the dashes are the strings and the numbers represents which fret you depress while strumming on that string. A zero indicates an open fret, meaning you don't press any for that beat.

Looking at the open vs. depressed notes compared to the Morse Code, there's almost a correlation.

TOART:
Quote:

_ ___ o_ o_o _
0 232 01 010 0

TSARE:
Quote:

_ ooo o_ o_o o
0 232 01 010 0

But from a rhythmic POV, number of beats is on but the grouping is off. I'm not sure if there's more to this or not...

Me:

On your recent page, Reds, myself and a couple of other friends believe you have either mistranslated the Morse code or there is a greater purpose in this translation fluke. What you have written translates to TOART, not TSARE. I have elected myself to ask you if this was intentional or just a simple fluke. I am also wondering if you want us to try out the recipe? It is interesting, but scary at the same time. I like it.

Your's truly,

I believe he means there is a greater purpose to his fluke in translation. He wants us to do something. We just need to figure out what.

Twitter Updates!

Terence, an ancient Roman playwite? Would explain the latin. All the free translations are super crappy but this is the basic jist. (would love to get a better translation if anyone is good with their latin!)

Which maybe makes me think, now, that one of these new Twitters is not part of the game....other ideas?

I went and ran the whole page through a translator and it can back as
Quote:

heres a link to it too http://intertran.tranexp.com/Translate/index.shtml?from=ltt&to=eng&type=url&url=http%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2FTheThirdUnseen%2Fstatus%2F5812951969

I think it's odd that the whole tweet changed.

Another tweet:

Agreed, IMHO Vlad is more likely the true IG especially with his polite but obvious nudge bringing it to our attention. The Third Unseen is newer, has posted too often and the poor translation is out of character.

Yahooing Tsare gets a lot of hits all pretty much focusing on a Puskin fairy tale poem Skazka o tsare Saltane (the Tale of the Tsar Saltane). It has been made into a opera which includes Flight of the Bumblebee. It has also been made into 2 russian movies.

I agree, but will keep an eye on it for now. Who knows. The translation and the random nonsense......ugh.

Looking over the Latin quote, I think we were too literal.
Quote:
Ego sum a apparatus, quod quisquis sollicitudo clementia est of penitus volo

I am fairly certain the beginning means, "I am a machine," or, "I am a tool."

The second half (after the comma) is a bit harder, as the words individually mean a lot of very vague concepts. The first part (quod quisquis sollicitudo) means something like, "and every concern." (or anxiety, apprehension) The second part means something like, "silencing inner will." Either way, the terms are not meant to be read literally.

So all together, roughly translated, I would say it means something like, "I am a machine, whose every concern is silencing inner will."

Which, depending on the intention of the speaker, can be a pitiful statemented or a threatening one, depending on whose inner will he wants to silence.
