Not saying they're not, but I've tried that, every which way I can think of, and nothing came up.

Don't know if I'm shooting completely in the dark here, but sometimes i get the feeling that he seems to be talking to us. And not Carl. Or...we are "Carl". I don't know if it's just because it's 1am here, but I just get that feeling sometimes. When he wrote on twitter:
Quote:
Did you doubt me, Carl. We are friends. How could I let you down?
It seems to me that he is responding to our doubts about this being a game. He seems to tell us that we are his friends and he would not let us down by leading us on only to face a dead end. Urghh. I don't know. Evaluate that and tell me if it seems a valid theory.

Hello!

I'm new to this wonderful world of ARG'ing, and was directed here by a friend of mine. I find this whole aspect very appealing, the story, the puzzle, etc. Anyways, I just spent the past 3-4 hours reading this entire forum post, and also the site and wiki posts. I'm kinda new to all of this, but I'm willing to lend a helping hand, as well as another mind to the mix.

Most of the things I was noticing were brought up later on through the posts, but I don't recall seeing a few things mentioned. Just let me know if I'm thinking along the right lines, or just waaaaay off the path here.

I personally don't know where to go with these, just things I found odd, and out of place.

For one, the sentence from the page "Peaches" might be referring to the song by the Presidents of the United States of America.

Also been generally wondering about the other pages that seem to be mostly over-looked in the grand scheme of things (Although I know the whole smokescreen thing would make one want to dissuade from that.). For example, the comment at the bottom of DogLady, and other pages with seemingly pointless information.

I'm probably just stating the obvious here, or just what everyone else is already trying to figure out, and, like me, can only spot the oddities, not explain them. But I just thought I'd try to chip in. I was considering contacting hatshoe, but I don't know if (s)he needs any more e-mail conversations to look after.

Hope I can be of more help in the future, and will post if I have a "breakthrough".

Edit: I agree with Zagaan's theory of Carl being us, as a whole, or a certain individual who has been here awhile, I'm not sure, but I feel as if there's something there, but that's just me. I was going to try to see if the posts on Twitter coincided with other events, but I've not got around to figuring out the times for the pages yet.

Finally heard back from Hatshoe. My last email to him - about 3 and a half weeks ago - was, in code, "Where is the rest of pill", by which I meant the cut-off entry Sleeping Pill. His response was "Thank you for your diligence, friend. However, at this moment, this is not a crucial matter. Perhaps in time. Or out of it."

He sent this as an image, which I'm going to upload to the wiki.

Take-aways:
1) Finding the rest of pill isn't important.
2) Whatever this story is, it involves time travel, or the manipulation of time in some way.
3) Hatshoe is "back" (if he ever left).

Also, new entry: "Mark".

I no longer have any idea what's going on. Randomness is our only nourishment and obfuscation our lone companion.

There is an interesting comment in the source code for that page:

Code:

@live.com
and to enter, use the missing of the three.
Additive, mostly used for digital.

Preliminary thoughts: @live.com sounds like an email address but could of course be a website. To enter implies that perhaps we need a username/password. Additive springs to mind the additive blending mode in photoshop, although could be other things.

"missing of the three" could be green. We know that in Reds there are two images, blues.jpg and reds.jpg. The logical third is "greens.jpg". But I don't know where to go with that thought, and I don't even know if it's right. I have tried accessing hatshoe.org/greens.{jpg, html}. I also tried logging into hatshoeSPLATlive.com with password greens, but no dice.

For those that don't know, live.com is a MSN site and @live.com addresses are the same as @hotmail.com addresses. It's not inconceivable that hatshoe has created a hatshoeSPLAThotmail.com address.

It may be that he wants us to email him the password, I may try that.

EDIT: OK, no dice. There is no hatshoeSPLATlive.com. Email bounces.

EDIT: Supporting this theory is that RGB is an Additive color model, often used for digital files. So I really think our answer involves some form of the word "green". But where we use it I have no idea.

EDIT: alive.com is a women's magazine, no dice. greenSPLATlive.com is a british complaint email, no dice. so i'm confused about the @live.com part.

EDIT: if you want to have a really creepy 10 minutes, check out www.splatlive.com. Just be warned: you can not unwatch that movie.

@Fezzik Hatshoe sent the mark to Chaos in response to the 8(or infinity sign if you look at it another way) Chaos sent him. Either Chaos hit gold with receiving that mark or Hatshoe is just being random. And I think it's not the latter. Of course the source code is interesting too...This game is picking up pace.

It's about time he gives us something that will lead us in a direction.

I have been debating if colors are significant in Hatshoe's works. So I decided to give Hatshoe an email regarding my suspicions... Dunno for sure if this is a hint, but I think it is. From me:
Quote:
Rest I did. The thing that boggles my mind though is the spectrum of colours set against the alphabet...I keep having these flashbacks seemingly from LSD use(although I have never touched a drug in my life). They show me colours. Many many colours. Do you know the significance of these colours? Their spectrums? Their hues? I wonder what they have to do with the canvas picture...
Sincerely with reds and blues,
Zagaan

Not sure what to do with this...suggestions?

I think Hatshoe made an email and he wants us to figure out the password.

So we NEED a chatroom? Anyone willing to make one(I'm not too good at that Sad ) I'll be back later friends.

On another note...I believe it's settled that "Carl" is the codename for the players? Or hatshoe could just be using that name to talk to us without talking to us. In my opinion, It's also sorta settled that he uses the chans. That's where I found omegle ahahaha. From what I garnered, it seems he will answer only ONE question. So this is another reason why we need to get a chatroom up and running before time. We should then have settled on a question to ask. We could also ask for an answer to a hidden clue. That would push us forward without the risk of getting babble from him about other subjects... That's all, folks. Meet ya in a couple. @Perdi, he wrote that aproximately 52 minutes ago by my timing. I caught it before it turned into (an hour ago).
