arg stuck mid game

im posting guest because i dont want to disclose my self at this point in time, but i do need help.

the game was going well and a nice pace, but now i am stuck, the site i am using is very limited so picture mapping is next to impossible.
i want the game to be more interactive for the players but dont know how to go about it.

second problem
when and where should crptic writing and decyphering take place, is it needed to make the game more enjoyable.
cant a story just be that a story that people can emerse themselves in?
or is it really important to have interaction with the game?

third what gets your attention what keeps you wanting to play more and more?

Since you haven't gotten a reply yet, (unless privately)... I thought I'd jump in. The main thing I'd like to say, is to respect your players. By this I mean that if you are stuck, it would be appreciated if you could possibly find an in-game way to let players know that things will slow or stop for a while.
Maybe send you character on vacation, in the hospital, sick with the flu, or whatever. I've even seen pm's send out a message to their players just to be honest and let them know that the game can't be finished at the time.
It's much better than to just leave them hanging, or just stringing them along with things that mean nothing.
As far as websites and what they allow... do some research. There are so many out there you should be able to find something if you really look.
Interactive can mean different things, blogs, email, myspace pages, yahoo messenger, etc.
-And I would say "yes"- it needs to be interactive with the players, at least a little bit. Otherwise, it's just a story, not an arg.

-- This is just my opinion. I have not pm'ed any games, only played/lurked on some. But the main thing I think could be learned from this, is to try to think of all of these things BEFORE you begin your game. Smile

see we had the arg planned out. the problem was the people on my team, well they decided to quit and leave everything up to me.
I didnt want the game to end. i didnt want to disapoint the people working so hard on it. so i tried to wing it as much as i could. i had read somewhere on here that i could wing it and pick up story pieces from ideas that were posted on the pages trail head by dicussions the peoplle were having about the game. the problem was the people had become so off track they werent even close to our orginal story line.
i did manage to keep the game running as a lone man project.
but i still dont know what else to give them. normally i feed off of the ideas of the crew.. but in this case now the ideas are all my own.
which why i wanted help.
i did establish an oog website for updates on what was going on. and they still thought i wasn't saying anything. yes it was readly avaible.
so ya.
im still a bit stuck taking it to end game

Since you're posting as guest, I'm not sure you'll see this reply...

But in the event you do, login and PM me from your account. If you're still working things out I'd gladly be a sounding board for you.
