Had already planned to do it this year; glad to see you're around too.

Due to my prime in my school being Literary Arts, I feel semi obligated tp actually start my novel this year. Finishing it is another matter entirely.

I already posted on the NaNo thread but I'll post here too. *goes on a buddy-adding spree*

I'm only one for three, but I've got a good feeling about this year. :3

The 1st is just a few days away! Getting nervous and excited. Sadly I'll probably be too busy to start Sunday so it looks like I'll have to make up for it with 14 pages on Monday Shocked

It has begun. And how much do I have written?

*EDIT*

I actually sat down and wrote a staggering 429 words, and it was exceedingly difficult. I am, most definitely, NOT a professional writer.

Nighthawk, I've got only about 537 from last night. Remember the fable of the tortoise and the hare. Wink

We're having an IRC write-in tonight in #nanowrimo, starting at 6 p.m. Pacific time. Come for the plot-bunny exchange, stay for the ninjas!

Today I went to a coffee shop where there must have been 40 or more people there for a nanowrimo write-in. There were extension cords everywhere! Me, I don't have a laptop or notebook computer, so I merely sat and wrote fragments by hand onto index cards. After 2 hours (and too much coffee), i came back home. It took me another hour to generate 500 words, and I've already changed voice tense and point of view from my original plan. Whee! (I am already distracted by having IRC open, and a browser, and stopping for real food, and checking the VCR, and washing dishes, and...)

OK, so I'm about 7,000 words short of the supposed goal... Nothing to panic about...

And I recently explained it to my wife and my new employer: both of them gave me a glazed look.

Catherwood, that PVP strip really reminds me of my first NaNoWriMo with my husband in the house. XD

Nighthawk, have you picked up a copy of Chris Baty's "No Plot? No Problem!" book, yet? I think you - and your wife, and your boss - will appreciate it. There are several sections about dealing with work life and home life during NaNoWriMo. Wink
