I think I have to throw in the towel, or go rogue. I rather conveniently forgot that I have a dissertation to write. :/

JaeDom, I never knew what your NaNo account name was, so I couldn't track your progress. Still, 2000 words is better than a few of our lot did. Here's some stats from the top range -- I won't embarass the people who dropped out early.

35,969 Andrhia
39,014 IneffaBelle

And a good time was had by all!

I didn't have the time to get past chapter 3.
Considering I spent three weeks in unemployment, I guess I can't be blamed for other priorities...

November 2010 draws nigh Do you know where your plot outlines are? bumping as a reminder that we're drawing close to November.
not sure why we put this in TimeWasters ;)
also, the group created on the NaNoWriMo website last year has gone away, we would need to create another if we thought it would get used

I'm doing Nano too! It'll probably kill me, but it's going to be so much fun!! I'm a member on the ywp.nano-site for those younger than seventeen (I'm fifteen). But if you're a member there (I don't think you can add between the two sites) feel free to add me as buddie

2011 NaNoWriMo coming soon www.nanowrimo.org Let's get ready to rrrrrWRITE!
Yes, I know, it's still more than two weeks away, but I thought I should bump the thread and nudge people who need nudging (you know who you are!)
Also letting you know that the site was migrated to a new database, which means you may need to reset your profiles. All of the links in this thread are also probably going to be broken; I know the URLs to profiles have all changed at the very least.
As always, #nanowrimo will be available on our usual IRC server for companionship.

Cath, is there a way to add / follow people this year.
The new setup seem very Geo based

not that i'm an expert or anything...
...but they have said that last year's buddy list (or whatever they called that) will be imported into this year's servers, but might not be available until November 1st. (and i assume they will automagically convert the old node numbers into current profile names) I'm not sure whether we can "friend" people before they set that up, but we WILL indeed be able to "follow" our fellow writers, from any region.
Welcome aboard!
ahhh, here it is, see "Writing Buddies" on this update -- http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/breaking_news/site-specifics-read-me

I haven't done NaNo in years, I think I got a bit lazy or college took up most of my time. I'd love to get back into it.

Camp NaNoWriMo in August looking for cabin-mates Hello, writers! November is the month for the traditional NaNoWriMo, with write-ins and social events. August is the month for Camp NaNoWriMo which takes place entirely online. They still send out weekly pep talks and have the tools for you to track your progress. They have forums, too, but what makes this special is that you can be put into smaller "cabins" to have writing partners to chat with.
Is anyone going to give this a try? I'm signed in but have not yet been assigned to a cabin. I might just let them randomly pair me up with people in my age group, but they do have a way to request specific members to be in the same cabin.
Look for me! http://campnanowrimo.org/campers/catherwood
