I'm neutral on the TTA=SM idea. I'd not mind if it were true, and in fact, might be quite pleased, but I have my own pet theories that are ridiculously fun to engage in until the truth is revealed.

What gets me is how people so detest the idea that SM could get on a computer and upload shit to YouTube, but never wonder at how he got his suit in the first place. Seriously, my first thought when watching these videos was imagining this guy walking into a suit discount store and looking around.

Sure, he can run around shopping for suits, but Youtube is strictly forbidden. At least you don't have to risk people noticing that you don't have a face, or that you have tentacles for arms if you're on YouTube.

Hun, Slender Man is a shapeshifter. He can make himself wear whatever he wants.

I never saw shapeshifting as affecting clothing material. Ever read a fantasy or supernatural thriller-type book? Shapeshifting always renders the character naked, or at least wearing rags after the fact.

Not always. We don't even know that he's wearing a suit--he could have just shapeshifted his body so that it looks like he's wearing a suit. After all, no one's really gotten a chance to see whether or not said suit is actually cloth.

Besides, in the pictures of him with stretched-out arms, his suit sleeves always stretched with him/melded with his arms to become black tendrils.

His skin just looks like a suit, okay? Evil or Very Mad

False. I still carry the standard of the "totheark is Alex" camp, though I also believe that totheark could be Brian.

I fell into the same camp until I read the preamble reposted from the SA forums. In it J details how Alex made it perfectly clear that he not only didn't want his tapes back that the topic of the tapes or Marble Hornets was to never be brought up again. If he was so adamant about getting everything MH out of his life I don't think he'd thrust himself back in.

This makes me think that another member of the MH cast is TTA, and Brian seems to be the most popular suspect. Granted it could still be Alex, as after all this is a work of fiction to which there are no set rules.

On that note.

The story falls into the realm of scifi/horror/fantasy the rules about what anything can do are entirely up the author.

Sorry I should join if i keep posting. As I said I am not sure whether a slenderman would be answering peoples personal messages, even telekinetically. The Messages that imply that totheark is watching J. definatly meets SM's M.O, more than anything else SM is seen watching Alex. Totheark may be letting J know, You haven't really noticed me, but I am watching you right now and I was watching you three years ago.

Of course this doesn't preclude, Alex or Brian watching J. to know he is seeing him, but Seeing people is exactly what SM (in marblehornets at least) is all about.

Considering he can go from one pair to multiple pairs of limbs without leaving behind gratuitous amounts of business suit, I'd say the suit is part of his body as well.

I agree. I like to think that when Slender Man came into existence, he wanted to blend in with his surroundings and also be creepy, so he looked at humans, saw that he was similar, looked at their clothing, and selected a plain business suit to "wear".

Paranormal Activity spurred my desire to research Slender Man, then I remembered this video series.

I seriously never even noticed him first time I watched the videos. XD

But, I don't see why TTA couldn't be some combination of SlenderMan and Brian/Alex. Part of the SA mythos was that Slender Man was very capable of making others do things they didn't want to. Not really possession, so much as just control. Just my $.02

and my point is, that he doesn't have to be, I n the same way that Samara/Sadako doesn't sit down and and edit some videos together, the videos don't have to be the result of someone making the videos and then uploading them onto youtube. It could easily have been that the whole chanel Totheark and the videos just happened in other words appeared super naturally.

Quite, though Samara/Sadako does like to place phone calls Laughing

Still, I believe (and hope and pray) that TTA is not SM. IMO, it's more likely Brian is TTA.

For some reason, I've seen an influx of new people since the start of this. Oh well... Welcome. Smile

Anyway, I still believe that TTA is Brian. I had a whole bunch of stuff that laid out the foundation that TTA could be Brian. It does seem really plausible to me. In fact, so plausible, that it is entirely possible. Nothing really conflicts with that idea yet. We just need more concrete evidence before we can say that.

Edit:

Also, a nice little avatar for you all to remember me. Razz

I found Slender Man (more specifically MH) by reading a comment thread on io9.com about Paranormal Activity.

The "Addition" video response proves J is not totheark. During this video, totheark filmed J's coughing attack, implying that totheark is a human who is not J. I know this may seem extremely obvious, but it is important information as J very well could have been totheark.

If J *was* totheark, it would answer a lot of questions. If Alex had given J all his tapes with no consideration to what was on them, how is "new" footage of three-year-old events (such as Exit) still coming out of the woodwork? The answer would be that J was releasing these videos (preferably in a SM-induced trance state) as he came across it. This would also explain the correlation of a sharp decline in health with the totheark posts - if SM was indeed controlling his mind, physical symptoms would appear. It would also explain the reappearance of "missing audio tracks" - if J was taking them out, he might be reposting them later.

Even "Exit" didn't prove that J wasn't totheark. That clip was from the MH days, which could have been included in the collection of tapes Alex gave to J. J may have found the footage, and posted it under SM's influence.

Addition changes all that. I have to wonder - if it's not someone with direct access to the tapes, who would it be?

Yeah, I had leanings that J was TTA until Entry 16. Personally, I suspect that TTA is an unnamed ninth character, some supernatural being or ghost or something, but beyond that, I have no clue.

I can't help but think that Exit sort of proved that Alex is not TTA. Alex would have been busy fleeing SM while J got the batteries from the car, and it would have taken a pretty superhuman mad dash to run around, calm down, and film him. Unless, perhaps, SM was controlling Alex, but that's not a theory I particularly like either.
