Something else; There seems to be some confusion regarding the audio, so I downloaded it and sped it up myself. It IS indeed J saying "Alex! Brian!". To sound exactly like it did in Entry #16, I had to speed up "Alex!" by 130% and "Brian!" by 130% and then again by 35%, so 165% in total.

Baron, Thanks for the work. It is definitely J's voice calling for Alex and Brian

Baron - If I follow what you did, you sped it up by 130% and then sped that up another 35%, wouldn't you then get a total increase of 175.5% from the original speed?

Uh, my math skills are probably off. What I actually did was speed everything up by 125%, and then isolated and sped up the Brians by 35%, and then sped everything up again by 5%. Sorry if my initial numbers are wrong. I'm sick so I'm kind of out of it and I don't remember exactly what I did. >.<

Hm. Why does this sound disturbingly familiar to me?

I don't know, the tripwire idea seems a bit out there. I guess it's an okay theory, but it's one of those things we can't jump to conclusions on. It just seems sort of out-of-the-blue.

My personal pet theory was that the air was bad or something. It certainly seems like he collapsed in a way that wasn't induced only by coughing.

Also, I really like the idea of TTA not being human, but I'm being pessimistic on this issue for now.

He does seem awfully strange, he types in a peculiar fashion, and he seemingly gets around without making a sound. I think it's a very viable theory that he is not human, but until we have some more evidence, I don't really want to get my hopes up.

Wasn't there a bit of visual tearing in J's video right before he went into his coughing fit?

This would support the theory that TTA and SM are one and the same, BUT - why didn't TTA's camera tear?

You have to remember that visual tearing isn't always associated with the slender man. Remember Entry 7? No distortion whatsoever, and yet....

Also, TTA's camera never tears. There is some distortion, but that's usually when he's using footage that looks to have been recorded by someone else.

visual tear at ~:50 in entry 7

The one before he comes into the room in 14 is exaggerated, so severity be based on proximity? Where there tears around Entry 1 and 6?

Ah, you're right. I need to watch these things over again.

I was so strongly under the impression that tearing did not always indicate SM's presence.

Haha, my sickness is a sinus infection that is causing me much pain in my head and jaw regions, I'm not coughing up lungs or breaking into abandoned houses at night. =P

I extremely doubt the tripwire idea, and I'm thinking that may have just been a bit of bad acting on J's part.

I like the idea that SM is somehow controlling Brian or Alex into uploading these videos, as that way the strange typing would make more sense. Or maybe he is under the control of SM, and his video responses are the only way he can communicate without invoking the wrath of SM or his operator(?).

Other than that I'd say the only way totheark is human is if he's crazy. Maybe he knows too much and it drove him mad, similar to Matt from that JAF sidestory.

Also, I like the theory that someone or something controls Slender Man, as that would make the whole Operator business make more sense. In this case, I think totheark either IS the operator, or he knows enough about him/her/it to warrant the creepy videos. He could be following J either to protect him from SM or to try to get SM interested in him.

Ah, but you never know. J's illness started off pretty innocuous as well, remember.

But yeah, my other theory that I didn't go into was that the dude playing J hammed it up just a little. Actually, there are several things in this series that are very possibly oversights or acting issues on the creators' parts that we Unforumers try to find clues in, when they were never meant as such.

But, of course, TINAG, so I shall keep quiet about it unless otherwise provoked.

Just picture this for a second...

Slender Man walks into his studio apartment, plops down in front of his computer, and plugs in his digital camera. He makes a quick sandwich while the video uploads (lettuce and people), then sits back down. He pulls up Audacity and messes with some audio, then saves the finished file and gets ready to upload it, when he encounters a captcha.

"Please enter the captcha below to prove that you are human"

"Aw, shucks," says Slender Man. "Now what?"

I found that entertaining, thought I'd share.
