I apologize if this has already been discussed but I could not find anything in a search of the forum regarding this contest.

Is the contest by Volvo promoting the New Moon movie an ARG?

Here is the email I received when I signed up:

You can also use your username and password to play the What Drives Edward contest, where you could win a shiny new Volvo XC60, just like Edward's in "The Twilight Saga: New Moon". Complete the 6 phases at WhatDrivesEdward.com, to unlock the final puzzle. The first person to unlock and solve the final puzzle, could win a brand new Volvo XC60. So what drives Edward may soon drive you.

The first phase begins on November 1st, 2009 at 12:01am EDT, during which you will be given a puzzle to solve. Over the course of the What Drives Edward contest, five more phases will be released, and more puzzles must be solved.

You can begin playing at any time before the end of the competition, and you can finish the phases in any order you choose. But remember, the first to finish all six phases, plus unlock and solve the final puzzle, could take home a shiny new Volvo XC60.

New phases will be released on the following dates and times:
Phase 2: 11/06/2009, 3:59pm EST
Phase 3: 11/10/2009, 3:59am EST
Phase 4: 11/13/2009, 11:59am EST
Phase 5: 11/17/2009, 7:59am EST
Phase 6: 11/22/2009, 12:59pm EST

 		Unless there is a story and characters for interaction, this is more of a puzzle contest than an ARG.

 		Ah, the Twilight series. The only book I honestly tried my hardest to read but couldn't. If it was an actual book and not an audiobook on my iPod I would have tossed it out of my moving vehicle.

 		With the fear of moderating myself for hijacking this thread, yes, it's THAT bad. Smile

Let's do a brief count of everything that is wrong (ETA: I just did a partial list after all):

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1. The girl is deathly afraid of blood. She never works out, never goes out in the sun, never participates to any activity, yet she is somehow interesting enough to spark the enthusiasm of a vampire that's been around the block once or twice.
2. Vampires have one weakness: their skin sparkles. And how could anyone fight off anything with body glitter?
3. Edward keeps acting like a complete d-bag every time the girl is around. At some point he fakes vomitting to get away from her.
4. His family are the "too cool for school" vampires. Literally. They come and go to school as they please. Apparently that never sparked a come-to-Jesus meeting with their parents for some reason. Possibly because of their awesome vampire powers.
5. The girl hates her father. The poor smuck has re-arranged his life to include her yet all she does is reminisce the "old days" living with a mom that couldn't wait to get rid of her. The dad? Well he better damn well be understanding and put up with the temper tantrums.
6. The angst in this book overall made want to puke. As Family Guy says "There is nothing more important than what's happening right here, right now, by these lockers." Let's go stare at a lake for good measure.
7. Alternate title: Dawson's Creek with Fangs.

 		Oh my God, they cannot be serious. An ARG for Twilight? I feared it would arrive but never believed it would come...

ndemeter, the newspaper at my school wrote an article on how Bella and Edward's relationship is actually physically and mentally abusive for Bella. It's quite hilarious.
