Last Pic

Although my colleague, Jessie1326 disagrees, I think the last picture is:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Mizuno - http://www.mizuno.com/index.html

As for the first one, it looks older, and not as "up-to-date." I don't have much of an idea for that one.

USA node test

highxlr8r: I think you are right with your last pic. Still no luck with the first.

But there is a new test on the numerologica blog for the US node. Test attached.

Well, I think those are all a bit easier:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Mercedes-Benz
Adidas
Starbucks
Cisco Systems
XBox/Microsoft

but it means I'm not sure what to do with the answers, since the first letters don't appear to spell anything. Maybe it has something to do with the companies themselves? Like the headquarter location or something?

I have not been following this game at all, so forgive me if this has appeared elsewhere, but I just received this...

Quote:
From: Darcy Collingwood
Subject: Just a heads up

I've been posting a bit on my blog, but I don't suppose you guys have
been watching it. I know I went a bit quiet for a while there... you
can see why on the blog, I've pretty much explained it all there.

Anyway, it doesn't end here, it can't. I'm hoping to go searching for
the Lapis Tempestas back in England soon, and it would be great to
have some help!

Apparently, Numerologica are back to their typical sneakiness. Check
out numerologicacorp.proboards.com - how cloak and dagger is that? My
trusty helper Auz informs me that the password to their inner sanctum
(if you will) is googolplex - go have a nose around, see what you can
find!

Meanwhile, if any of you turn up anything on the Lapis Tempestas, let
me know. Anything at all could be really useful to me, since otherwise
I don't really know where to start!

Thanks guys, as ever!

Darcy

"Riddle me this" thread on the "within" forum

Quote:
I may be natural
I may be real
I may be complex
I may be rational

If I was perfect, what might I be?
If I was surreal, what might I be?

Sometimes I'm negative. Sometimes I'm irrational.

Tell me something I cannot be.

-

riddles are fun, aren't they?

i daresay there are many answers...

It's posted by someone called Administrator. Caused a bit of a scuffle between One, Two and Five.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

All those things seem to be types of numbers.
The first "Perfect Number" being 6, not sure as to the question for surreal.

Tell me something I can't be: Divided by zero?

Also, to add to the node tests. On the blog he says the answers are one 'word'. Word being in quotes leads me to believe we're looking for another number solution.

(Sorry if any of that is overly obvious/dumb-- first timer just jumping right in)

Edit:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I believe this to be a coincidence, but thought I'd post it anyways. I was searching for "1st RUN number" (1st from First Choice Travel, RUN from [R]eebok [U]mbro [N]ike) for the German node test and oddly enough the #2 image on GIS is a Mizuno running tag with number 1028.

[association of british travel agents]

either way, what about the last one in the german node Confused
EDIT: anyways, checkin the board..
seems one through four don't know much about each other..

I still believe highxlr8r is right with mizuno. I cut of a part from the mizuno logo (see attachment). For me it looks like the last pic of the German node puzzle.

I was doing something similar with the mizuno logo and it seems the angles didn't quite match up exactly. I also found that the Boeing logo is also a very close match. It would be the left and right side of the O and part of the E.

Just assuming Mizuno for the moment, both solutions - German and USA - do not make much sense when taking the first letters:

German: FRUNM
USA: MASCX or MASCM

One possiblitiy would be that 'word' does not mean a senseful word but just five letters. Maybe someone should apply for another national node so we get another puzzle and maybe see the common thing.

I will ask Darcy if she thinks it is ok if seomone from another country is applying for a specific node (META: Maybe the PM really needs people from those countries ... but I do not think so).

EDIT: Sent this email to Darcy:
Quote:
Hi,

regarding the puzzle. We think those logos are the following companies:
German: First Choice, Reebok, Umbro, Nike, Mizuno (last one not sure)
USA: Mercedes, Adidas, Starbucks, Cisco Systems, XBox (Microsoft)

Taking the first letters does not make much sense: FRUNM and MASCX ???
Maybe you have an idea?

I guess we need more national nodes and more puzzles to see it. What do you think:
Do we really need people from those countries or should some of our friend just pretend to be from the needed nations? Not sure if Numerologica will find out.

AUZ

certain it is mizuno...

i thought ye were talking about the logo itself, not the text under it..

definetly fits that way...

Darcy's answer:
Quote:

Hi Auz,

Maybe they're not meant to make sense. Not a lot of numerologica's
puzzles have meant a lot yet, have they?

As for the nodes, I don't think it will matter at all what country
they're really from. How would numerologica know if they're telling
the truth or not? The more people we have on the inside the better, I
would have thought.

Darcy

So we should try it with FRUNM and MASCX. I will send the German Puzzle answer to Three later. Also I think people should apply for the other nodes.
Choas, antirg, booba, highxlr8r, all you Lurkers: Go and apply for the France, Holland, Australia and New Zealand nodes.
