How did you find it. Nothing came up for me on google.

I have no explanation for this: when I use Google at home and search for "lapis tempestas PhD" it comes up with the weebly-site. After I read your post I tried the same at work and it doesn't show up. However, using Scroogle, I get hits no matter where I am. Foily!

That is really strange. Google still refuses to show the hit, whereas Scroogle shows it Dunno

Nevertheless, Darcy replied:

Birmingham... that was where I ended up last time, wasn't it. He
sounds ideally placed to help! I wonder if he'll want to? Most PhD
students aren't known for their martial arts skills, haha! Mind you,
I'm not going to turn down another brilliant brain...

Anthony

Anthony replied, after I asked for a private way of communicating with him:
Quote:

Really?! That's... that's awesome.

Well my email is lapisantSPLATgmail.com

If you've got real information on the lapis, I'd love to hear it

I will send him an email, explaining the situation and will ask for help.

Edit: Email sent (cc to Darcy):
Quote:

Hi Anthony,

it is a long and maybe unbelieveable story. I'll try to give you an overview:

A friend of us, Darcy, worked for some kind of library - but not a normal library. They are more connected to magical artifacts like the Lapis.
She and another guy, Flynn, were after the Lapis Tempestas. But Flynn was caught from an (maybe evil!?) organisation, called Numerologica Corporation.
Finally me and some friends helped Darcy to free Flynn - but the Lapis was sold to a costumer by the Numerologica Corp.
You can read about this on Darcy's blog: http://forreferenceonly.blogspot.com/

When we thought everything is lost, we managed to get inside the Numerologica Corp again and infiltrate them. There forum is here:
http://www.numerologicacorp.proboards.com/index.cgi
The password for the Within forum is : googolplex.

As you can read there: Two, one of their agents, did not sell the real stone but kept it for themselves. They even know about your website!!!

Darcy wants to get the Lapis back and maybe you are the one that can help her. I also included Darcy as "cc" to this mail.

I know that story might sound unbelieveable. But as you might believe that the stone existed, you might also believe that it stills exists.

Best
AUZ

Short Update:
Darcy wrote:

Hi there Anthony and Auz!

Well, I'm Darcy, Anthony, pleased to meet you. As Aus says, this has
been a bit of a crazy few months... and for a while I rather wish I'd
never heard of the Lapis Tempestas! But certainly I can assure you -
I'm rather convinced that it does indeed exist.

Auz and his friends have been really helpful to me, and even now they
continue to be amazing, finding you! You're based in Birmingham,
right? They last time I was over there in England I was around
there... I think maybe you're closer to the Lapis Tempestas than you
realise!

Anyway, I hope that all makes sense and you're not thinking we're a
couple of nutters now!

I'd offer you some references to prove I'm a sane, normal person...
but then, since I got fired that's kind of hard. I hope that my
sincere pleading is enough to convince you!

Regards,
Darcy

Anthony wrote:

Well you're right about one thing... it does sound kind of insane.

But then, I'm an academic, and I've chased a fair few nuttier ideas in my time so... I guess I've got nothing to lose by listening to you guys.

I don't really know where to start with all that... It's all kind of... well, there's so much there! I guess I'll just ask out my questions and you can answer them... then if I'm not totally freaked by the answers... we'll see where we go from there, k?

1. Evil organisation? We're not talking a Section 31 type scenario here, are we? Or like... global network of Knights Templar likely to kill me for my random and otherwise totally irrellevant knowledge? (yes, I watch too much sci-fi fantasy, I know)
2. Darcy isn't in England? But you think the Lapis is?
3. Who are your friends, Auz? Again, not some crazy secret society ala David Tennant in St Trinian's or anything?
4. If you know where the Lapis is... why do you need my help to get it? And what sort of help do you think I can be? I mean, I would love nothing more than to rescue it from the clutches of an evil secret society and all (I'll wear my best James Bond suit and everything) but I'm not really A-1 at Karate, if you get my meaning. The most I know of pain are paper cuts. Which can be painful... but not all that dramatic.

OK, so.... answer. And then I'll see what I think.

Anthony

So what should I answer?
Especially any ideas how Anthony could help us?

Seems like I am the only one playing this game Sad
Poor PM, I would understand if you would just let this all die.

My answer to Anthony:
Quote:

Hi Anthony,

I will try to answer the best way I can:

1) I do not really know the motivation and goal of the Numerologica. But if you look at their forum you can see that they are somehow strange. Even if not the whole organisation is evil, I would not trust Two - and unfortunatley Two is the one Wink that posses the Lapis at the moment and what is even worse he knows about its power. They also kidnapped Flynn. So no matter how evil they are: Be careful!
2) Darcy is not in England, bit will be there soon. So maybe you two can meet. The Lapis is with high probability in England.
3) Well, difficult to explain. I do not know most of them personally. We are some kind of internet detectives trying to help people with our knowledge if they need help (like Darcy).
4) We do not know where exactly the Lapis is. We even do not know how you could help us. But at the moment you are more or less the only person we know that might be able to help us. Since you know how dangerous the Lapis is, I think it is important to get it into "safe" hands. To be honest, I do not know how dangerous it could get for you. But you are already on the screen of the numerologica. Just imagine, they want to use the stone: Guess who they will "ask" and I assume they won't ask the nice way. So maybe it would be an option for you to join with us.

I will work out a plan, than you can still decide....

AUZ

So if anyone is still reading this thread I would be happy for any idea how to proceed.

Plan

Got this from Anthony:
Anthony wrote:

Hope you're still out there following this... Just thought we'd give you an update.

Darcy's flown over and she's come to Birmingham to meet me. I'm going through some of my research through with her; I don't think she realised how much stuff I've got! We think we need a plan to get the Numerologica people to bring the stone somewhere, so that Darcy can get it off them (she tells me she has mad karate skills, and I don't want to disagree with her!).

Got any ideas how we can smoke our Numerologica?

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

sorry, but I had some time issues the last couples of days.
So you met Darcy? That is great.

I made up a plan:
You are posting the location of the hotspot (of course a place that is made up for our reason) on your blog.
The Numerologica will read it and probably will go there with the stone.
We have several options:
- Try to get the stone while they are at the "hotspot".
- Follow them to find out about the place the stone is
- Something else?

Got this reply:
Anthony wrote:

Yup, met her yesterday. She's cool, I like her. Smile

Your plan sounds great, I like it! So... we'll probably need some kind of evidence to "prove" the hotspot location. All the stuff I amass tends to be like... old maps, charts, old bits of written information from books and stuff. Maybe you and your friends could work together to create some "evidence" that points to somewhere specific?

I'll ask Darcy where she'd like the drop to be. I think getting the stone off them at the hotspot is a great idea.

Anthony

I guess we should wait for Darcy selecting a place.

Location Hotspot

Email from Darcy:
Darcy wrote:

Anthony's spoken to me about a drop site. I think it needs to meet the
following criteria;

- somewhere within an hour drive of Birmingham since that's where I'm based now
- somewhere that isn't really public (if I'm going to be kicking
Numerologica into next week I'd rather not have witnesses)
- somewhere with some sort of "old" significance... I think that'll
help Numerologica believe that it's real

Think you can find somewhere?

Darcy

If someone has a suggestion for a place, please post.

I know there are a few old-ish places in the area, like castle ruins and such. A lot of the area was pure woodlands before Anglo-Saxon England.

The only places I can think of at the moment are places like Dudley Castle and Weoley Castle, both of which are open to the public though, with the former being in Dudley Zoo.

Perhaps somewhere in Wednesfield or Wednesbury. Both are named after Wōden, who is the head god of heathenism in England. It suggests the influence of heathenism in the area was huge as both are close together. It would suggest some sort of magical/mystical influence to the area perhaps.

Or perhaps something local to that area?

It's been a long day and its early hours here. I'll post again if I think of anything else in the area.

Would be great if you find a "perfect" place, since I have not that much time at the moment.

Okay, I took a look closer to that hour away limit. I unfortunately don't know that part of England very well at all. However, I think I have found something which could possibly be perfect enough to fool someone.

There is a small village called Long Compton, which has a huge history of witchraft. Nearby is a site of stones, a bit like a henge, known as the Rollright Stones. There are all sorts of myths and legends surrounding them.

They aren't owned by the national trust but looks like some local trust, so I think they would be pretty quiet.

Rollright Stones website

Rollright Stones on wikipedia

about Long Comptons bewitched past

There are also a lot of legends about the 16 witches of Long Compton, so one would assume that the area was of some sort of significant power. The witches would apparently frequent the stones for worship purposes.

It is right at the edge of that hour limit if not slightly over, but with its past history and relative lack of infamy I think it would be a pretty good site. I don't know what anyone else thinks?
