[TRAILHEAD?] Alihah Brookins I hope to God this is something or i will feel terrible I just got a text from 765-372-1257 asking if I was "ant". I texted back asking who that was and they replied that their daughter recently died and they were going through her cell phone. They also asked if I knew Alihah Brookins. I traced the area code and it came from Indiana. A quick google search told me that an Alihah Brookins recently died in a house fire in Indiana. I do not know Alihah Brookins nor do I live anywhere near Indiana.
Is this something? If it's not and this person is telling the truth then why is my number on a girl's phone who lives hundreds of miles away?

That isn't recent, that happened in 2007. This is either in terrible taste, or simply a mix up.

Reply, be sensitive and if they ask you to solve puzzles let us know. Also, for now maybe it's best to redact the phone number. If it's real news then it's odd that and ARG would be made of it. Also, this Alihah died in 2007 if it's the same person, at lest that's what my search of the name turned up. Be careful and tret it as such until you know it's a game or isn't, as the case may be.

The article about her death is dated 2007, so it wasn't "recent."
As for your number being in her phone, maybe it was a typo or displaced digit. Also, when did you get the number you were contacted on? If it was in the last two years, maybe it was re-assigned from whomever knew her then to you now.
Either way, this doesn't look like a game.

If they ask you to solve any puzzles tell them to rethink using an actual young woman dying in a fire as their game.

It doesn't appear to be anything. I got my number before that article was written so, I'm guessing a strange chain of events transpired that caused a terrible mix-up. Great, now I feel terrible . Thank God I didn't say anything bad. It still seems wierd that they would go through her phone 2 years later and say it was recent. That was a pretty bad date misread on my part.

You are recently registered here. It is not uncommon to begin seeing clues in the strangest places, especially when odd mixups like this occur. It just shows your brain is working properly Keep it up!

Thanks now I don't feel so bad. I have never gotten a text from anyone I didn't know so I thought maybe it was something.

You shouldn't feel bad at all. Who knows, next time it might be something!
