Honestly, when you start having to transpose letters for it to make sense, I think that means you're officially on the slippery slope.

Just saying.

Slippery slope to DEATH!
I was simply posting I thought of months ago, when everyone was trying to apply an anagram to everything. Whether or not Marble Hornets = The slender man, it's irrelevant and getting us no further into the "ARG"

Honestly, I think trying to anagramize the name is pretty useless. The name, as J said in a message, is a reference to little statuettes of animals that his mother(?) had lying around the house, that he wanted to incorporate into his film.

Don't forget the term SLENDER MAN has never appeared in this game. For all we know, he's Capt Happy McHuggs-a-lot, Esq.

Hmm. This.

hey guys, so i've gotten very into this marble hornets story, and i've also gotten my friends quite into it, and we've been thinking about changing our band name to The Marble Hornets. Do you think there would be any issues with that as far as the makers of the ARG go? have they copyrighted the name?

Technically you don't have to "officially" copyright something to own the intellectual property rights. If you don't make money off the use of their name, then it most likely isn't an issue and would probably be consider fair use. But it wouldn't hurt to shoot him an OOG email. JIK. I'm sure if its done as an homage they'd be flattered.

This, and it could be good advertisement for them. It'll get the name out more which they may very well want, depending on how much longer they're running this.

or depending on how much longer the series goes on for and how big your band gets, your band name might come up on google searches and similar things and confuse or interfere with people searching for official MH info. That's the downside.
