What would you like to see in an Entry video?

Pretty self explanatory. What would make a good entry video?

I want J to be recording or have a video of Brian recording and they walk backwards but they bump into slender man and turn around. He's right there.

Also, something that would be cool is if J or Brian went to a formal event or something where everyone is in suits and you can see slenderman standing in the foreground.

You guys?

I don't mean to make your idea sound dumb, but that's kind of a dumb idea. Razz

I've always thought the scariest thing about MH is that the typical jump cues we've been trained to expect by mainstream horror cinema are entirely absent; instead, we're treated to an entirely original plot line which is, in itself, horrifying without having to rely upon cheap gimmicks. And, because it is a game, our participation necessarily requires a personal investment in the fiction, making the whole experience that much more worthwhile.

You guys? lol

Gotta agree with Tets here. MH thrives on suspense and shock value.

Ditto. I really don't like the screamers. They're more annoying than scary, and when the creators of such a film rely upon a trick like that, they usually leave out chunks of plot. Really big chunks. And so we wind up watching a film with a story that generally resembles Swiss cheese sprinkled with roaches.

Yeeah.

I want to see, in the final Entry, Alex, Brian, and TTA all come out of hiding and throw J a surprise birthday party with cakedancers and such. And SM will be schmoozing over the punch bowl. And it turns out all along that this was just a big setup so that J's friends could throw him the birthday party of the century, only J could never know, so they hired the first paranormal entity they could find in the phone book as an excuse for why they all had to disappear for so long. But everyone lives happily ever after, and Alex and SM get married a month later.

That, or a simple Rickroll would suffice.

If they filmed the OPs suggested entry, I would not only stop following MH, I would go grab my HD camera and start filming a horror serial of my own, JUST to out them as being pathetic.

That's how much I hate that suggetion.

-psychological horror- not shock-n-awe, bro. There's a reason this format works so well for all of us. It's because they DON'T bump into the main antagonists at a party.

Seeing SM up close right now would kinda ruin the entire plot. I mean, what makes the entries scary is that SM is either too far away to make out any of his physical features, or something is blocking our view of at least most of him. To show SM in his entirety would be completely against what the ARG has been doing. I think maybe, just maybe SM could be completely revealed in the final video, whenever that may be. But at this point in time, showing him would just ruin everything.

I'd love to see kind of an ambiguous downer ending. Perhaps a person (or persons) get's emailed a copy of the final video from a mysterious person. Leaving the fate of J unknown. Though before that happens I'd also like a few more answers and some strengthening of the plot

God, what if there's a clip of Alex returning back to the place in Entry 13, but at night? Alex isn't paying attention, he's just holding his camera with the lens facing the tree tops as he inspects something on the ground, and we see Slender Man in super-tall-tree form, just a bunch of twisty limbs and a head, looking down into the camera, unbeknown to Alex...

...I would love the creators for that.

Maybe the next entry will be J going back to the house to confront masky, but this time he has a GUN?

I have no idea, mostly because this ARG has been consistently surprising. Each entry reveals some piece of information I didn't see coming. I have basically been surprised into the state where I cannot picture what will happen next.

Where could it go from here? J could always find some new clip from the MH videos revealing some new angle on the story. totheark might stop posting, someone new might join in the game, J might get caught up in the deep underbelly of the SM obsession/occult, Alex/Brian might reappear, Slenderman may start following J...and of all those options I imagine something completely different will happen.

I'd enjoy some more good Lovecraftian elements twisted into the story, even though we are currently rolling in them.

i think one with J saying he's been hearing noises or something and it's him in a dark room and you hear an animal yelping or something and banging and it says he went to sleep and the next morning you see blood on his windows that say like run and shit along with a dead deer or something

In all seriousness, I agree with Morscata and Two2teps.

I really don't want to try and say what I want to have happen in the videos. I have what I think would make a cool story, and I think abut the direction I would take this in, but really, it's not my story. If I wanted to take an SM story in my own direction, I'd go about writing the thing. But right now, I quite like what the guys at MH are doing with it, so I'll keep my jaw shut and let them do what they're doing. By all means, it's working very well.

To be fair to OP and everyone flaming him...

Doesn't Alex run right into SM in one of the entries, around the corner? 13, isn't it, at the very end??

But I agree that I would like it to remain on the same spooky scale as it is currently.

It's going good right now. Before entry 18, I might have said to pick up the pace, but right now things are getting interesting. The story is really picking up speed and intrigue.
