Nope. These booklets were sent out to game industry journalists. I just ripped the pictures.

I really do hope this is an ARG. It has potential.

A few of the articles on http://americafactsheet.com/_backup.php say something like "see our archive page for...". I attempted to find an archive page but no joy. I even checked the way back machine and google cache. Not sure if any "archives" exist.

Heh, hey Luns, I've been back for about 2.5 months but before that I was gone for about a year and half. My wife and I got into WoW Razz

My thought is that the first three numbers are there for fun. They all go to San Diego. The last goes to an (888). Might actually work.

Also, I 've noticed that when I block Flash/Javascript with NoScript in Firefox the blacked out text become visible. Posting below.

Introduction

The dual crises of peak oil and the global economic meltdown of 2012-2025 drastically changed the United States of America, creating a 'perfect storm' for the enemy forces that are now occupying critical areas of the western half of the country.

On January 16th 2025 The Greater Korean Republic (under direct order from elements within the former North Korean government) launched a vicious preemptive attack on the United States.

Stage 1 was the massive infiltration of all military command and control centers by a cunning cyber attack of unmatched complexity. American defense systems were briefly overloaded and loss of communications between government and military elements was achieved in short order. Communication with satellites, missile control facilities, and the Global Transportation Network used for troop deployment were all taken offline.

Stage 1 is estimated to have lasted no longer than 45 minutes.

Stage 2 was the detonation of a powerful nuclear device over the continental United States. The ensuing Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) destroyed nearly all electronic devices in the continental United States including roughly 75% of all military defenses and 99% of major communications systems.

Riots and violence quickly ensued, overwhelming most local and federal government control measures and accounted for an estimated $550 billion (2015 pre-economic crisis dollars) in damage to American infrastructure. Using tanker and cargo ships converted into troop carriers, forces of the Greater Korean Republic quickly moved into Hawaii.

Soon after, a massive array of airborne elements and Special Forces paratroopers landed in the strategic areas of the western United States. The main targets were key U.S. military bases, key transport centers and resource hubs.

Although some defensive stands and counter attacks by American armed forces were successful, the response by U.S. forces were badly hampered from the effects of the EMP blast. In many cases U.S. defenses were largely overcome.

In 2026, to limit counter attacks and strengthen their right flank, the Greater Korean Republic occupying forces irradiated the Mississippi River with a mixture of unidentified lethal radioactive solvents. This resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent Americans and the destruction of a wide swath of the environment in North America. The ultimate toll of this earth altering tragedy continues to be unknown at this point.

As of 2027, Greater Korean Republic Forces have successfully occupied and gained nominal control over key areas of the United States west of the Mississippi River. Under the direct orders of dictator Kim Jong-un, Occupational Forces have imprisoned, starved and killed an unknown number of innocent men, women and children

The United States Federal Government does not recognize the validity of the occupation of its sovereign territory and continues to offer strong but fragmented resistance to the occupational forces. A state of war exists between the United States and the Greater Korean Republic.

Suppressed under a sea of greed, materialism and unilateral imperialism the people of America suffered greatly. However since then the newly developed and rapidly expanding Liberated States of America has flourished under the eternal guidance of the Brilliant Comrade Kim Jong-un and the ideology set forth by the New Juche Revolution. With the assistance of the Greater Korean Republic the people of the Liberated States of America have put themselves and their country back on a path to greatness once again.

Geography

The United States is located in North America, bordering both the Pacific Ocean on the west and the Atlantic Ocean on the east, between Canada to the north and Mexico to the south.

Natural Resources

Although large amounts of the country's natural resources have been depleted, enough reserves still remain to bring the US back to past levels if carefully regulated under a strict rationing system. However the success of such a system continues to be questioned due to the lingering effects of the EMP blast, the environmental disaster at the Mississippi Valley, and the world wide economic crisis.

Occupied Areas: Under the false pretenses of "Liberation for a Better America", the Occupation's top priority is the systematic excavation of natural resources to then be transported outside of North America. The Resources Extraction Operation deliberately manipulates the American people, using them as slave labor to drain the occupied territories of its remaining resources (natural, technological and intellectual.) There are several such large scale campaigns currently underway by the occupational forces, particularly in the large oil shale deposits in the mid-western United States, as they use advanced extraction technology developed by the Chinese.

The Liberated States of America is a land of great and plentiful natural resources. After decades of mismanagement the promise of these riches was never fully realized on behalf of the people, leaving a once glorious nation poor and hungry. The Greater Korean Republic is focusing on helping the people rediscover and efficiently redistribute these natural resources equally amongst the masses resulting in a new era of splendid wealth, health and prosperity. This includes: Shale oil, coal, ore, copper, lead, molybdenum, phosphates, uranium, bauxite, gold, iron, mercury, nickel, potash, silver, tungsten, zinc, petroleum, natural gas, timber.
Environment

The environmental damage caused by the irradiation of the Mississippi remains the defining event of the 2020's. To whit: In 2026, Occupational Forces irradiated the Mississippi River all but destroying its ecosystem, which covers 41 percent of the continental US. The radioactive materials killed an estimated 400 different species populating the river and surrounding valley areas. Under current estimates, the river and the land within a 300 mile radius of the from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico will take an estimated 250 years to return to its natural habitable state.

These lands boast bountiful and vibrant wildlife, terrain and waterways. The beautiful mix of grasslands, coastal, rural and mountainous regions have been reconstructed at the best level by the Liberation Environmental Bureau for the pleasure and enjoyment of its people.

Occupied Areas: The Greater Korean Republic sponsors a doctrine of racial purity throughout Korea and its member states. Occupation Forces have killed an unknown number of American citizens deemed "impure" through the use of brutality, murder, slavery, and harsh labor camps.

The LSA is a melting pot of dissimilar races, ethnicity and nationalities. This assorted culture is embraced and celebrated by the Greater Korean Republic where all different peoples are the owner to everything equally.

Occupied Areas: Since the Greater Korean Republic's attack and invasion of America in 2025, medical facilities and supplies west of the Mississippi are low to non-existent. Few American citizens in occupied territories have access to proper medical treatment outside Occupation People's Hospitals, which lack organization, supplies, standard medical technologies and sanitization. The infant mortality rate in America has nearly doubled in the last 2 years.

Government Type

The United States of America is a democratic federal republic based on a Constitution and Amendment system.

Occupied Areas: Since the illegal occupation begun in 2025, areas west of the Mississippi have been under nominal control of the Greater Korean Republic, a tyrannical totalitarian one-man fascist dictatorship powered by a cult of personality surrounding Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

The LSA is an Occupied State of the Greater Korean Republic. The Republic's governing objective in America is solely as liberator. All governing bodies are positioned in transitory roles only until the people of America achieve Juche and are able to maintain peace and order on their own.
Legal System

Originally based on the Common Law of England, the Constitution allows for each state to create and adopt a legal system of it's own choosing that works under and with a recognized Federal law system.

Occupied Areas: A loose conglomerate of autonomously operated Military Tribunals and death squads administer nominal jurisdiction over occupied areas. There is no independent judiciary committee and no recognition of individual human rights. The legal system is a weapon used to push state ideology on the masses, with rulings based purely on the theory of the Chuche (biased subjectivity). Citizens are subject to random detentions, "disappearances" and extrajudicial killings without the right of council, trial or judicial review of any kind.

The LSA operates under a Civil Legal System similar to those used throughout the Greater Korean Republic. In addition to defending the rights of the people, our law helps educate criminals and the public on the ideas of the New Juche so they may lead more fruitful lives moving forward.
Economy

The current economic crisis has resulted in the devaluing of the standard Federal currency. Because of this, several different systems of barter have arisen throughout the country. Regardless of these systems, the US dollar is still the only recognized currency issued by the United States Federal Government.

Occupied Areas: With no uniform currency, no privatized businesses and no valued capital; goods, aid and services are largely exchanged via barter or through state controlled distribution centers. Through these centers the occupying forces implement radical swings in supply to destabilize the population. An excess of 85% of the population now live below the poverty level.

The Greater Korean Republic is helping American workers experience the most life can afford through a nationalized work system where food, shelter, healthcare and education are offered free from the state. Examples of this are beginning in western areas of the country, and by working together as one, we will help restore the American economy so all citizens can experience the joys and benefits of the New Juche System.
Communications

Because of the 2025 EMP blast, inside the continental United States the Internet is made up of an adhoc OLPC mesh based network requiring computers or laptops to be no more than 1 mile apart for connection.

Transportation

Modern methods of transport have been severely limited due to the severe economic crisis and the effects of the EMP blast of 2025. The EMP blast relegated 98% of airplanes and approximately to 90% of all automobiles useless.

Occupied Areas: The EMP blast coupled with the general neglect of the Occupational Forces has resulted in the destruction of one of mankind's landmark achievements, the American transportation network. Occupational Forces use any surviving remaining railway systems for the transfer of coal and oil supplies to the west coast for shipment to Asia. Americans in the occupied areas are isolated and disconnected from both locally and globally.

The LSA boasts one of the most advanced industrialized transportation systems in the world. By providing repairs and upgrades to more than 7,000 airports, 90,000 km of railways, 3,000,000 km of roadways, the liberated areas offer a magnificent interconnected mechanism where supplies, food and workers coordinate and bond together in unison.

Haha you haven't looked around the forums much then, have you? I'd say a sock puppet corporation, gnome army, pirate/ninja booty buried in NY or [insert any number of arg themes here] to be higher on the list of ridiculous scenarios.

It's all about the suspension of disbelief.
